2010 GSXR 750 STOLEN FROM DAYS INN WOODSTOCK

My 2010 GSXR 750 was stolen on Oct 15th at 7:10 am from the Days Inn in Woodstock. These guys picked it up and tossed it on its side in a open trailer and took off, of course the hotel cameras were not working. I was informed 5 hrs later where it was and whom the thieves were, I informed the ingersoll OPP and was told they did not have enough evidence to get a search warrant. After 9 days of the OPP doing nothing, even with them telling me that the suspect is a known bike thief, a friend went and looked in the shed and it was there. OPP informed and did nothing even though pics were taken with location. Next morning 3 scumbags loaded up my bike( pics on FB of some concerned neighbour) and now who knows where it is. OPP knew of the three guys because they informed the neighbor that the plates on the truck were stolen. NEXT DAY OPP ASK TO LOOK IN THE SHED, NO WARRANT AND OF COURSE NO BIKE!! OPP DID NOT DO THEIR JOB, WHY DID THEY NOT ASK TO LOOK IN THE SHED ON ANY OF THE 10 DAYS PRIOR TO IT BEING TAKEN SOMEWHERE ELSE? THEY SAID THEY NEEDED A WARRANT ON DAYS 1 THRU 11 BUT NOT ON DAY 12

This is my bike, has a distinctive stretched swing arm, I'm offering a reward for the return of what's left

That must be very frustrating.

I'd contact local media + TO Sun, The Star etc. to advise of this Keystone Cops issue.

Why didn't you,

A) Ring the doorbell and tell the guy you're there to get the bike back?

B) Use his head as a battering ram to force open the door of the shed?

You know where he lives. You should know what to do.

Because the cops will charge him with assault in a heartbeat? The fastest way to catch charges is to do the police's job for them. They dont want to do it but they make damn sure they have a monopoly.

Its a different process in some states.

On a trip to Arizona from Calgary one winter my brother and his buds had their transport trailer with bikes inside unhitched and stolen from a local motel one night.

When they reported it and filed the paperwork with the local Sherriff in the morning he took them to a well known trailer park where the three bikes were on display. They arrested the two guys responsible and allowed the bikes to be removed right away by my brother and into a rented trailer cuz there was no sign of the original one.

The arrested guys were well known for doing these type of thefts. The motel clerk was also implicated.

He tripped and fell, while running away officer, thats why his face is smashed.

Reading this reminded of the time when I had a theft occur in my rental between showings.
As expected - Peel Police took a couple of weeks to get back to me saying there is nothing they could do.

Pretty sure I'd have been able to do a better job if I had access to the buildings security feed.

Sorry OP.
Did you have insurance on the bike?
I'd this point I'd say cut your losses and move on...not worth the effort and heartache.

Your bike looks stretched...assuming you had some work done to it as well?

Cases like these make me not want to blame individuals who do this: Dude Lied About A 7-Year-Old Kid Being In His Stolen Mustang To Get Cops To Find It Quicker

The OPP has a few issues with getting the job done. This is a prime example.

I have never personally had a bad experience with them and TBH several very helpful situations. That doesn't make these events acceptable. It will eventually lead to vigilante justice.

Policing in Ontario has zero interest in property crime. They will document and provide a report number and that's it. Job done. If they happen to stumble upon some stuff, they will post it to their twitter feed to see if anyone claims it. Part of the apathy probably flows from the courts doing f all if anything actually goes to trial. Why spend all the time and money taking a dirtbag through trial if they are back on the street in less than a month. Who did that help? The original victim feels slightly vindicated but nothing else really changed.

OP should have said they stole his bike at gun point.

I occasionally help out at dads businesses, we've had to deal with the occasional theft, the attitude of the police is a joke.
They didnt even bother showing up for a report.

they dont give a ****.

If you take matters into your own hands, they'd be happy to charge you though.

Very true! Had a high end car stolen years ago. Insurance covered it but the cops found parts a year later and asked me to go to court to identify that I owned the car in question. Never had to though cuz the perp., with a record long as your arm, gave a sob story saying he's the only one to look after his shut-in mother. Got off with just a finger waggle from the judge. I was ****** but the cops were even more ****** off!

Lower your expectations.
The police are not interested in dealing with your situation.
'Not enough glory fines or potential for self congratulatory tweets

FTFY

If it doesn't pad their budget they don't care. Motorcycle theft isn't going to pay for the force's second $1M+ tactical rescue vehicle assault tank.

Have still not gotten my bike back, I had insurance but just liability. I hear that it is still in one piece but without any plastic. I also hear it is still in Woodstock. Some one knows where it is and who has it. I don't care if you bought the bike as long as your not the guy who stole it, I have no problems with you, I give u the $$ and we both walk away, u with $$ and me with my bike. I already know who stole it and his time is coming. I have $750 for anyone that can get my bike back to me no questions asked. If you can only tell me where it is and I have to get it myself the reward will be less but still a good chunk of cash. We have all had something stolen from us in our lives and you all know how I feel, I want my bike back and if I have to pay out a reward so be it. NO 5.0 WILL BE INVOLVED IN ANY KIND OF WAY WITH ANY PERSON THAT HELPS ME OUT, NO DRAMA NO BS, STRAIGHT UP EXCHANGE

Sorry to hear. That sucks really. It is one thing if the cops have to look for it but in your case, they could have done something I feel. Hope you get it back.

Edit: As one of the previous posters mentioned, you could think of going to the media and creating a stink if you're open to that.

This is why YouTube channels like Long Island Audit exist. Great entertainment and an inside look at the morons we call police. It doesn't even look like Long Island Audit is talking to a real cop until a Sergeant arrives on the scene. Clearly the education requirments need to be increased to become a cop, as none of them appear to know the law. And the tactical vests and military gear needs to come off as it makes them act like military, which they are not. They should be dressed like postal employees. The attitude of some of these a-holes dressed as imperial storm troopers is astonishing. It's great to see the walk of shame.

OP There's an suspicious stretched 2010 GSX-R on the forum right now. "OEM plastics" but those plastics weren't created until 2015 for the > 2015 GSX-R's. Original owner bike but owner doesn't know anything about it. Have a look..something not right with this ad / bike.

I hope this story ends well for you. Everyone on here will have eyes out for yout bike. You've come to the right place.
