That is the weird.

Most Suzuki's (I believe...) have a bridge in the clutch that connects 2 nodes when pulled in fully. It's required to start them (same as kickstand switch when in gear)

I think you can maybe solder/connect them together to bypass needing the clutch in; but I haven't tried it.

Suzuki's need the clutch in to start even in neutral but the kickstand can be down. Stupid annoying design

Yes, that is a little weird. Maybe it didn't need to be, and the OP didn't try it with the kickstand down, in neutral, with the clutch lever adjusted back out.

Didn't try it with kickstand down, it does start with it down.
