Looking to buy a bike and I'm having difficulties deciding between the two. Any suggestions or helpful tips would be appreciated. I do like the feel of the CBR though.

Here are the stock pictures:

as alot of reviews said the CBR's r well known for their comfort and street riding compare to other SS and the R6's r more track oriented... but if ur into the looks go for R6, if more for comfort then CBR

Get the one everyone else tells you to get.

I really can't tell the difference between a couple of pics. But, if I was in the market looking, I'd probably try to demo them. And try a zookie and Daytona just to make it more fun. Then, I'd probably get the Daytona. Just because it sounds better to me. I wouldn't even care if the Honda was more comfortable.

lol.

Ya it really comes down to the one you like most. They are both fast, and both sexy bikes. I bought my CBR because I saw it and loved it. It just looked sick...

CBR is a nicer ride, R6 has 17 more ponies.

 pass me whatever you're smoking!!!!

The 600RR has more power until around 12,000rpm (how often you there anyway?) Check out the difference in torque at 5000rpm, 5ft-lbs. Look at 9000rpm, almost +10ft-lbs of torque on the Honda!

I know these numbers seem meaningless but 5-10lbs more torque in the midrange is hugely noticeable on a bike, especially for just cruising around town.

There are obviously more factors to consider when buying a bike, but when it comes to power the CBR will be faster and you'll feel this difference around town, no doubt. 600s are already weak to begin with, so any extra torque you can get in the low-end and midrange is a godsend. The R6 feels like a sewing machine, it's consistently the weakest of the 600s in the midrange and all its power is up top high in the revs. Not good for street.

ha ha ha

I stand pleasantly corrected.

Ya, I like the CBR for all the reasons you mentioned and the fact that, in my opinion, it does ride nicer than the R6. There are so many factors to consider when buying a bike though. I agree with Kamikaze, the R6 is such a sexy biatch and that's the really only reason why I'm stuck on deciding lol

Styling is the only thing (IMO) the R6 does better. The 600RR is very plain looking to me.

ok so I think we are missing some info.

Are you asking which one is "prettier" because you haven't told us what is important for you. Like is HP important so we can tell you which has more. Is a slipper clutch important for you? what do you want to do with the bike?

Excellent comment! I guess aesthetics is pretty high on my list, but I do realize that there is more to a bike than just its looks. That is why I haven't pulled the trigger on the R6.

I guess I would like to know what is the best overall SS bike that can be used for street riding, the odd street race ;), and commuting to work. There is way more knowledgeable people than I in here that can make my selection easier by providing their experiences and sharing their knowledge.

I might be wrong about this, but the R6 is stolen far more often than CBR's. I personally know 3 people who had that generation R6 and all 3 had their bike stolen.

If it's only for the street go with the more comfortable bike. If you ride with a buddy and try and see who's bike is faster in a straight line (but not racing) it's going to come down to rider not 3hp.

if you like the feel of the cbr then get the cbr, if you want reassurances, i'll give you mine..... get the cbr.

i wanted a cbr because i love the undertail exhaust, however, i got a gixxer instead cuz hte price was too good to pass up.

if you're like minded... get the cheaper bike!
