2007 Honda shadow with extremely low KMs - Red flag?

Save your money and hassle, go try and buy a Kawi Vulcan 900. WAAY better machine. There are 2 models to look at depending on your style.
750 shadow is old technology and gutless.

You are welcome :)

Ask him when he bought the new odometer.

You'd be surprised at how many people buy motorcycles and ride only a few hundred K a year. Add in a scare, an injury or a health issue that could prevent riding while the bike sits in the garage collecting dust and I wouldn't discount a 8/9 year old bike with only 3500K as having been tampered somehow.

Hell, insurance companies indicate that they assume 1000K/year for motorcycles. I rode that last weekend, but for many others that's several years of riding.

Just spent 3 days and the aforementioned 1000 Kilometers riding with a friend on a meticulously maintained 750 Shadow chain drive. Zero issues and he certainly didn't have any issues with power or ability to maintain speed...to the contrary sometimes, actually.

The Kawi is a very nice bike, but I love my Shadow.

compare paper specs then when you actually ride them, then you will know what I mean

I have. And I totally get what you mean. But I really like the classic styling of the Shadow.
Oh, and one of the guys at BurritoBoyz let me sit on his Vulcan last week. I have trouble reaching the pegs.

I recall trying (and preferring) the Shadow Ace, Phantom and RS ergos at the December bike show years back. Both the classic and big wheel Vulcans looked more the part but felt too stretched out for some reason and I'm not a shorty. The TU250 and Guzzi V7 were about perfect.

It's implied that looks and fitment are relative to the buyer/tester.

Absolutely.
Added that as personal anecdote. Y'know, for that personal touch.

We really don't want to hear about you touching yourself personal.

I wouldn't be afraid of a low mileage bike just because of that. As others have said, it depends on how it was taken care of. I bought a 1983 with 875 km (yes, less than a thousand) on it 4 years ago. The original owner had driven it home and parked it in the garage; never rode it for some reason. Decades later the guy I bought it from got it and ran it down to his boat several times, but his wife got ill and couldn't get on and off it. He left it parked in the local Krown rustproofing shop where he worked, until he decided to sell it. I bought it and the only issue I have had is fork seals, which i had to replace (probably not unexpected) and the drive belt broke (very unexpected). I also replaced the tires as the sidewalls were checked. YMMV L

FWIW a good friend of mine picked up a similar 2005-06 (?) a few years back with under 4k on it for $3500 IIRC. Mind you he did travel to St. Kits.
