Rodney it seems to me that you are trying to nit pick the hell out of the bike so you can have an excuse not to purchase it. Feel free to post where the bike is so someone can go purchase it asap since I know a few good homes it could go to.

Since Rodney lives in Ajax, the Monster is obviously at GP Bikes. Where else could it be?

The bike is mine, I just need to go over a sign, but I want to be 100% about spending my $7500 + taxes. I'm not rich so I can't make rash, uninformed buying decisions. I personally see nothing wrong with that.

Since you want to work for Ducait ;) do you think think this pipe wo an ECU is a issue?

Rodney the slip-on you have on this bike looks like kit 96116707B which doesn't come with an ECU. That's all the dealer meant. The bike wouldn't run without one so rest assured it has one. Your procrastinating I sense maybe that's telling you that you don't really want this bike? God I should work for Ducati.

You just bought $12,000 worth of motorcycle in the last 2 months...you're rich dude.

Rodney I meant no disrespect its just I have a moto "If in doubt leave it out" it seemed like you had doubts so I was just saying be sure your sensible head isn't trying to tell you something as I thought you may be trying to convince yourself not to get it :-). Do not worry about the ECU. Ride the bike and get a feel for it this spring/summer. If the fueling isn't perfect you can deal with that at a later date, but I don't see a cause for concern. I always recommend get use to a new bike to you first before you start changing or adjusting things, it may not need it and may make it worse.

I'm far from an expert here but I've owned Ducatis for the past eleven years so I know things to look for and ways to cut corners on expenses. The engine is solid you have nothing to worry about.

Ok, cool. Thanks for your insight. I do appreciate it.

I see just the opposite, he's already emotionally attached to the bike and now he's just fishing for excuses to justify the splurge.

If you look at his response to positive feedback ("That's great to hear") versus his response to negative feedback ("Oh well that doesn't really apply to me"), clearly he's already decided. Of course it's still means he'd be buying the bike for the wrong reasons, but that's something we're all a little guilty of isn't it?

The neverending talk is just Rodney being Rodney.

So... 92 posts later... where's the bike, and why are we still talking about this? I think it's crap or get off the pot time.

Of course we are. That's what sets most motorcyclists apart from commuting drivers. I know that certainly participated in my decision when deciding on my current bike.

I have disappointing news, at least for me. The bike was sold yesterday by another sales guy in the dealership. From what I understand my sales guy was unaware this happened. Sux because I thought we had an understanding as I told him I was coming by this week. I kinda wish I had gone over before, but with family, my own business and all that, I can't just drop everything and run. Ahh well, it's not the end of the world and maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

What's next? Probably wait until the Jan show, maybe there will be super deals on a new bikes. I know Brampton Motorsports had a super deal at the motorcycle show on a FZ8 for ~$8600. Fun looking for bikes anyway, search continues...

The week is almost finished Rodney, where's the bike!?
