2006 vw jetta suspension problem (obviously not a motorcycle)

Had a 06 Jetta TDI, with 370,000km, that seemed to eat front bearings when using aftermarket. Went to OEM bearings, no problems since. As Brian mentioned the correct torque procedure must be used. Almost forgot the torque procedure is different depending on which bolt you have, the 12 point spline or the hex.

They only off the 12pt axle bolt now at the dealer, which as a 24mm with 57lbs + 90 degress

the last time I did torque to yield bolts was on a head gasket for sun fire.

I get so nervous doing them thinking they are going to snap. Those crazy Germans

If anyone ever needs a great Volkswagen mechanic, Precision Tuning at Keele and Langstaff is a really great shop. I had an '01 Jetta that I took to him for all major work (suspension, timing belt, etc.). His rates are cheaper than the dealership and he won't try to screw you over. If it's broken, he'll replace it. If it's not, he won't. I had a much different experience at Bramgate VW.

He finally got his bike? He was talking for at least two years about wanting one. I haven't been by his shop in just over a year now though (no longer have VW). Did he get a GSXR?
