2005 SV650s Won't start...help

Okay I took the battery off the charger and threw it in the bike and she fired up, guess I didn't know it needed to be charged (rookie mistake I guess!) thanks everyone for your help!!

Glad to hear you got it started.

What is still concerning is that there was a blown fuse. There may be an electrical issue still. Did you get this bike recently? Is there any aftermarket lights, etc, installed?
Generally, it's a good idea to pack some extra fuses (in a ziplock bag) in your toolkit under the seat (You do have one, correct?), just in case.

I agree, could be a short somewhere. I blew one of the fuses regularly because of a bad connection at the rear lights. Cleaned the connectors and applied lithium grease. Been fine since. Carrying extra fuses is a very good idea, btw. Small needle nose pliers are the best thing for removing them as well. Or use a dedicated tool. Unless you have nail extensions of course. ;)

Also, what year is your bike and how many kms do you have on it? I have a 2004 SV and it suffered, thankfully only mildly, from the infamous ignition switch connector failure. See this thread for more info. If it gives you nightmares, it's not my fault. ;)

FYI if you ask nicely Crappy Tire will do a quick charge for you when you buy a new battery. Takes them 15-20 minutes.

DONT do a quick charge on a bike battery they cant take it and you are actually damaging the battery slow and low is the key to long battery life. Same reason you dont have a car running when boosting.

Duly noted. BTW I have another battery-related question, but I might as well start my own thread.
