2004 Kawasaki Z750 with 94,000 km? How much more can it go?

Saw a 2004 Kawasaki Z750 on Kijiji with 94,000km. I have always been a fan of the Z bikes. Any previous owners can chime in on their reliability?

Is 94,000km way too high? If this was a VFR I probably wouldn't worry about since they are known for high mileage.
 
I believe the engine is related to the ZX7R and ZX9R of the same era. I've heard of those going well past 100,000 km but much depends on how the bike was treated and maintained. You can break them ... but if everything is working and there is a good maintenance history, it could probably do as much again.
 
I've got 85K on mine and it runs like a champ. Well maintained they will last well beyond 100K. If you're looking for one let me know, mine is for sale and I'm willing to deal.

As far as the bike is concerned, it all depends on maintenance and how well it's been taken care of. If it's a one or two owner bike, and the current owner has owned it for a while, he's likely taken care of it. If it flips hands every six months, there's probably a reason for that. It's at the kind of mileage where if it's been neglected, it's going to give you issues.

There's an '07 with 10k km on it for $4200 on the Trader, so I'd peg the value of this at somewhere between $1500-2000 depending on condition.

I think it's unfortunate that high km bikes are so hard to get rid of. My understanding is that bike engines (especially the brands known for reliability) will go as long or longer than car engines with proper maintenance. I think the issue is that we don't tend to ride year round, and a lot of what we see listed is from " fair weather riders", so all those 20 year old bikes with 30000 kms ruin it for well ridden and hopefully well maintained bikes. I would not hesitate based on longevity though.
 
Get the history, get a feel for the owner if they take care of their stuff or not.
Get bike checked out at a good shop.
change all fluids, plugs, filters, valves done, throttle synch, brake lines
you can do all of the above yourself

Turn it into a project bike if you can get it cheap and do everything right and you will have a comfy bike in your stable.
How much can you get it for $1500?

Do you have any proof of this or you're just assuming? There's no way something that revs to 13k rpm will last longer than something that has a limit if 6k rpm. It might be able to reach 200k kms, but other than that it would need a overhaul.

For OP, I'd have the owner ride it around the block to check the transmission. Make sure its not skipping 2nd gear
 
Got a response from the seller on Autotrader. 2007 model for $4200. Here's the response

"Hi,
I got ur reply to my 2007 Kawasaki Z750 ad and i confirm that the bike is still for sale for $4200.
The bike is a 2007 year model with only 9700 km,750 cc displacement.
It's in mint condition,runs perfectly and there's nothing wrong with it at all.

I'm getting rid of my bike cuz i no longer use it since i went abroad for a job contract and i'll be living over there for many long years so i left the bike to my cousin who was keeping it since a few months but he called me a few days ago and said he's moving to the New York for admission in a university and he can't any longer keep my bike.
I don't have anyone else around who will be keeping it for me for all those long years so i decided to sell it quickly at a low price to get rid of it.
I intrusted the bike to a private truck driver and he's taking care of the sale and of the delivery as well.

So i told to the truck driver once i received ur reply to my ad that i found someone who's buying it and he's requesting ur details and house address so that he will transport the bike and all its paperworks(Ownership,Uvip,Seller's package of sale) to ur door with no cost at ur charge and once the bike is at ur home you will test drive it,check the papers with the ministry of transportation and if u find everything ok then u will take the bike and settle the payment of the $4200 cash on the spot to become the new owner of my wonderful bike.
So get back to me with ur infos below and i'll forward them to the delivery guy and he will get in touch with u to set up a time for the delivery and the bike will be brought to u asap:

Sounds like one of those old time scams....

I cant help but feel that in 1/10000 of these scams there is some guy who just moved to a different country saying "Man I just dont get why no one will by my bike".

Scammers ruin it for everyone.
