2000 cbr929 problem areas ?

I just picked up this bike on trade for my sled. Two mature owners (40s and late 30s) seems to in great shape. I plan on changing all the fluids, probably check the valves over the winter as well. Any specific areas I should look at?
Thanks!

Check the charging system. That's fairly common (and i chased mine for a loooooooong time before irritatingly selling it off).

Cam chain tensioner, that's what ate mine :(

Problems? Wheelies and headshake.
And clutch lever bolts fall out mid race,LMAO...Inside joke.

it does have a steering stabilizer for the headshake...

Almost impossible to ride at an elevated pace without a damper..... My R6, which has a reputation for being titchy, is a freight train stability wise on the throttle compared to the Blade. The Blade shakes it's head over every ripple, and every upshift on WOT. I suspect it's the way the swingarm pivots in the engine cases and frame isn't really a frame.....all causes the headshake issues.

I bet that still works awesome after 12 years.

It won't be stock. These babies didn't have one OEM. No idea why. I am betting alot of these bikes got wrecked early on by riders without steering stabilizers. I can't fathom riding mine without one. It's brutal.

Fun bikes! I have a 2000 myself with 90,000km on it I am the 6th owner...got it at 43,000km, I to had charging problem, went through 3 stators in a summer (stay away from RM stator for these) they have issues, the stator in it now is from a 1982 honda Asscot 500, been going strong now for 3 seasons now, and I also ditched the old shunt type rectifier for a newer mosfet type, runs way cooler and more stable voltage, I bought a 2005 ZX10r rectifier and works great! I do have a list somewhere with all compatible stators for the 929RR. Oh and also go over you grounding points in the wiring, there is one behind the starter and another one up near the rear shock, I cleaned and greased them both. What color scheme is yours? Mine was black and silver to begin with.

Had a yellow and black 01 without any problems. Even rode it from TO to Vancouver.

i have never had any major issues, the stator went out at 45,000ks gp rz. helped me with the cross reference on the ascot stator, picked 1 up on ebay for 20 bucks around 32 to my door from us. wired the 929 plug onto the ascot stator.been running strong for 2 years.i have an ohlins racing damper on mine.best mod ever.sport bike rally, parry sound, 2000 ft radar run im completely stock, no power mods. hindle slip on for sound. i did 5 runs all over 235kph my best 241kph fastest was like 258kph gsxr 1000.the new bmw 1000rrs fastest run 246kph. 929 will hang in there still. oh ya im 3 up 1 down on the sprockets, and i way 140lbs.whats the best part of the 929s? check out the under seat storage. ya dont get that on a modern day ss.
