2 steps to go and start riding

i ride a cbr 125 im ok with going out of the city as long as i dont have to take any highway. i know cabs are the worst and craziest drivers and im so worried about that. i get worried driving a car around cabs so i know it will be worse with a bike. im willing to drive out of the city and learn and take ur advice i just dont want to take any highways or fast roads. im new and got cbr125 not good combo on a speedy road. if u can tell me of places that r nice and quite and i can get to without having to take highways just inside roads then i would appreciate it

Even downtown - wake up really early and you will have all roads to yourself. Every fri I have to go to Mississauga so I extended my commute from 30km straight 401 to 150ish byt going up north, hitting hockley and forks. I leave early and traffic/cops/heat are non-existent at this time. I also ride to downtown almost every day - same applies: wake up early and all roads are yours, especialy on the weekend.

I love early morning rides - just have to be carefull on country back roads. This season alone I almost hit wild turkey twice, spotted deer, coyote and other critters don't remembere how many times

ya i will try to do that this week first practice in a parking lot then early in the morning on streets.

thanks all for ur posts and advice
hope to see u all out there :D

how do u get lost? are you not from toronto originally?

wow! where are you riding?

My two meets with turkey happened almost in the same spot - as I mentioned I extended my Fri commute to Mississauga by about 100km. Part of the route is Hockley and Forks right after. As you coming out of Forks and get to Mississauga rd - about 5 min in, 1st and 2nd turkey call.
Deer and other critters - stouffville and area, Airport rd and Hockley if I ride really early.

Yep this was on one of the side roads up that area which is my riding area as well.

OP you should be riding this area not down town Toronto. Go on a Sunday morning early and spend the day winding in and out of the escarpment and some of the nice roads like Hockley Valley - you have a motorcycle not an urban scoot.
