.....

...and it really started off as a serious question. lmao

I know. haha... but the first line said he searched and nothing relevant when there have been several tire threads in the last year on exactly the same topic. Right there I couldn't take it seriously anymore. :p

Here's something serious that I've said before; I've done "pretty fast" lap times on old street tires (BT010, MEZ3, Diablo Corsa). Also had a bad crash on the Diablo Corsa, but it was me touching the engine case down, not the fault of the tire. Anyway, good street tires will get you out on track and going pretty quickly. Run whatever tires you want. Learning from your own experience is always the best thing to do. I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of the joy of the "first time" ;)

you're right I was thinking more motogp. I don't think the op wants supercorsa slicks in sc1. yes I know csbk 600 use them - hence the remark about using dot tires

My next question was going to be "What oil should I use". LOL.

Oh that one's easy. Use motorcycle engine oil for the engine, motorcycle suspension oil for the forks and shock, olive oil for the salad, and corn or canola oil for the fried chicken. haha...

Supercorsa isn't a slick, it's a DOT approved race tire. I've run Supercorsa SC1 front SC2 rear, without warmers, on 4 different bikes. They work quite well.

What is needed here, is a picture of Sandy doing a facepalm. Although it is tough to beat Picard's, such would be most appropriate when these tire threads pop up. I'll work on obtaining such a picture.

please get him in the Picard suit.. or a godzilla suit!

I don't think the comment was directed at you personally or anyone else. It's the interwebs where everyone has an opinion on what's right, there's so much bad information which would be why Sandy (someone who actually knows what he's talking about) would be "face palming".

Wow..correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you affiliated with Pro6cycle? From a customer service perspective, don't you think its pretty stupid to come on a public forum and state that one of your potential customer's questions/or threads deserves a facepalm when you don't know them personally? I am the first to admit my search skills suck and I could care less who comes online and flames me, with one exception..a retailer and its employees who are trying to make their living from me. Now, if I misinterpreted your comment, please explain..otherwise, your comment does not really encourage me to walk through your doors for advice.

It's not your initial questions that prompted the facepalms. Your questions are understandable and reasonable even though they have been asked before, sometimes the search functions aren't as useful as we'd hope so I don't think anyone is being critical of you asking your questions.

The facepalms arise when those who "answer" your questions have no business doing so. There has been some good information provided in this thread, and some bad information. Hopefully it's obvious which is which. If you really want some good feedback on which tires you should run without having to deal with internet experts, I would suggest talking directly to one of our local track/race tire vendors. If you discuss your riding ability (be honest about it), what bike you're on and what you hope to get out of a set of tires they will be the best source of information regarding which tires would be best for you.

This is why I always add "...in my experience..." when I post about tires and whatnot. It's not gospel, it's just what I've experienced on my bikes, with my throttle and brake control. ;)

Err, where's "The Tire Whisperer" on your list?
