17 Years just got M1, first bike (insurance question)

go for a 70's honda 360 or similar. they're light, nimble, they're going to teach you motorcycle maintenance, and they're cool. and inexpensive (*nothing* is going to be "cheap" to insure at 17) to insure.

If you can find someone that will insure and old bike without a classic policy. An m1 and less then 10 years of riding may exclude him from that.

Got any pictures of the 78? My dad has a 1980 xs1100 special that has been chopped and customized. I will post a pic later.

Looking at all of this -
Chances are I'm gonna get my M2 asap.
Ask around for actual quotes for various bikes etc.
Which by the looks of it will be an older bike between 125 - 250 ccs.
If nothing else then because of insurance prices i'll start driving next season, so it can start being affordable.
I'll have to see.
Thanks again.

at 17 with an M2 (so last year) my '84 500 interceptor cost me about $3000. So a 125 should be less then that, but I think you should go for an older 250, it'll be cheaper to buy, they're easier to find, and insurance will be about the same. I just bought an '04 Honda 599 and it's only costing me $70 more. Oh, and depending on where you live will affect your rate. I'm with jevco, and once I moved to Peterborough from Brampton, my rate dropped about $500
