I probably wouldn't leave the store without spending it. Even if I only cashed in one battery, I'm sure I could find something useful for around $15
Hey you never know when you will need a almost dead but partially functional battery.

The reality is that a lot of the gift cards that they will issue will never be used as people will either loose them or forget them at home.
Coincides with Peel Region's free battery pick going on now.
Interesting....hmmm.
I may or may not have dropped off a half dozen batteries at Canadian Tire after hours in the past year, and may or may not feel stupid about it now.
I did the same, took probably 10-15 small ones to the dump from old UPS's and dumped them in the pile there for free last fall.
PA did this last year as well, so maybe it'll be an annual thing. I honestly didn't expect them to do it again.
I'm going to start collecting batteries now from everywhere I see one, so I should have a huge pile by this time next year. Which inevitably means they wont' do the promotion again next year and I'll have to haul them all to the dump after the fact. And then they'll do it again a year later lol.
Don't the scrap yards pay $5 for them? Leave an old aluminum BBQ out and it's gone before AM. There's an old gent here that goes though the recycle bins and picks out the wine bottles and aluminum cans. Free money and no gym fees.I used to leave them at the end of my driveway the afternoon before garbage day and they would magically disappear overnight.
Our old neighbourhood was great with scrappers cruising on garbage day. They don't troll the new hood. There is a guy you can call that will do a free pickup if you have stuff you want to disappear. Sometimes it takes him a few days to show up but it's handy. Last year he grabbed a pool heater, bbq, propane tanks, steel wheel and some misc crap. We were both happy. Heat exchanger on the pool heater was probably worth more than the rest combined but whatever. I didn't need to put together the trailer and waste an hour driving it somewhere only to get screwed on the rate as I have no idea on current fmv.Don't the scrap yards pay $5 for them? Nothing like avoiding a punctured tire on your way out of the scrap yard to boot. Our old neighbourhood was great with scrappers cruising on garbage day. They don't troll the new hood.
