Have to see how Cobourg is dealing with traffic cases. Electronically/phone or in person trials? Small berg, so officer likely to show....more so if phone or electronically?
Cobourg is a shining example on how to run a police department poorly. I'm a little surprised that cesspool hasn't been disbanded. It probably would have been if the OPP wasn't so ridiculously expensive and unresponsive if they were contracted. I have no idea how they are dealing with covid. Like most police in Ontario, they are doing catch and release with actual criminals and spend much of their time picking up the same half-dozen losers.Have to see how Cobourg is dealing with traffic cases. *raises hand*IMO one's rights should trump the complications and force majeure experienced by the crown. I think it will depend on the JP.
My concern, we continue to hear of people (not a huge number but enough) that lose their license because of unpaid fines from a conviction many years in the past. How many of these get "lost in the system" and seven years from now....
Especially if you have other convictions that will drop off by then.COURT dude
They are so back-logged the savings from the conviction not showing up until 2023++++ is worth it .......
Is this within 11b, charged with a speeding offence May 2023, trial date is set for 28th October 2024? 17 months.
It looks like they may be playing silly bugger with court dates. Depending on when in May, that could be 17 months, 27 days. I think the bar is 18 months. Is this within 11b, charged with a speeding offence May 2023, trial date is set for 28th October 2024? 17 months.
