The collector thing is hard to guage, just because its old doesnt make it collectable, nor particularly valuable, and then romance and nostalgia kick in and nothing makes sense. "my dad/uncle had one, I want one" " my first girlfriend gave it up reverse cowgirl on a CB360" .
The Brits are buying crates of 'thier' bikes and repatriating them , really nice 60's BSA's ect. are much less expensive in the US than the UK and generally in better shape.
The bikes I really wanted have passed the ability of millionaires to own. Nice Brough is 150K? really nice Vincent 100K ? They are going into real collections .
I sold a 73 RD350 with 800 original miles for $1,000. 10 yrs ago to a guy that was a member here. bet he made money on it. LOL
