    Science news of the day

I’d like to see a woolly mammoth or a dodo for comedic purposes. If we get T Rex’s back they will just end up as pets for Cartel bosses.

    Anyone here a cyclist?

I butchered a squash racquet grip and hockey stick once so I have form.

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Thanks! 2x drivetrain! I did buy the kits but may repurpose the existing cables as suggested. That will leave me some spares for the future. I got a pair of housing cutters on sale too so I’m all set, I already have a cable cutter/crimper. Just hope my fat fingers rewrap the new bars OK as...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Got an early Black Friday deal on the handlebar I wanted for my gravel bike which has a 50mm riser and is 60mm wider. So now I need to plan for the cable exchange to fit the higher wider bars. Are these the kits I need to do this for those hybrid cable actuated hydraulic brakes and for a front...

    Dry ice blasting?

Cool. But the write up says “safe for the environment” except for the part that you’re releasing a reasonable amount of greenhouse gas.

    Did you exercise today?

Another 30km gravel ride today. A little cool, especially the feet as I have summer cycling shoes still. I got a merino base layer and that worked brilliantly. I felt better today, it’s getting easier. Shoulders not as sore, neck not as sore and a faster pace (for me, I’m still a snail with...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

The hybrid brakes I have on the gravel bike are very good but not like the full hydraulic ones on my MTB. Both of these beat the pants of my old rim brakes I had. I think I’m going to go with the 5 cm rise top shelf handlebar as I have a bunch of spacers I can switch if that’s too much change...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Yes. Cable actuated disks with the hydraulic parts at the disk. These ones… TRP HY/RD disc brakes. Cable-operated hydraulic pistons, ensuring reliability and efficiency 160 mm (6 1/3") disc at the front and rear. Flat Mount assembly. Jagwire anti-compression housing to ensure braking...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

It’ll be some housing too I imagine. Not internally routed and the brakes are hybrid cable/hydraulic so I think that makes things easier?

    Anyone here a cyclist?

I may need to install longer cables for brakes and shifter with a higher/wider drop bar set up in a gravel bike. How difficult is this to do? I have a cutter/crimper.

    Did you exercise today?

32km gravel ride. Sore shoulders so not sure if I need to raise my bars up. Thinking of this Top Shelf Handlebar System

    Getting old sucks...

My job has been the major contributor to this. Also high blood pressure too. Taking a different approach now though so prioritizing my health, not doing stuff at all hours of the day or night, recognizing that someone else’s urgent “emergency” isn’t necessarily mine etc.

    Getting old sucks...

I have multiple crowns from grinding away for years, it’s been quite bad. The dentist really doesn’t want me to get implants as if I grind on those I’ll bust my jaw instead. The solution going forward is probably something freaky like yoga/meditation/anger management and staying away from...

No bridges? I have to get a bridge soon. Can't have implants as I grind my teeth too much as people make me mad! Sent from my SM-S918W using Tapatalk

Need a new laptop... have no idea

What about an older gen iPad? Less hassle generally for simple stuff like web surfing and has built in cam for Skype etc plus decently long battery life.

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Crappy tire had a Maximum brand 1/4” torque wrench (20-50 in/lbs I think) on sale for $69 today that’s ideal for the bike. Also some 1/4” metric deep sockets for $14 so I added to the tool collection.
