    Tool for pulling wheel bearings?

I've done the at-home method of just working it gently with a long screwdriver and hammer. If you are interested in the tool, places like PartSource will loan you the tool for free. The catch is you have to leave a deposit of full price of the item. You get 100 Percent* of it back once you...

    iPhone 5S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People have already been camping out Apple stores for about a week now. Release date is sept 20th. Three weeks of camping a store just to say they were one of the first to own one...effing sad. Either they are skipping work, using up all their vacation days or are unemployed. If it's the last...

Tire Tread Question from a Newbie

I would think that center groove in picture #4 should have slots on it just like the rest of the treads on either side. My vote is strongly for replace as well. Newer tires will work better, those look stiff.

Tuesday 10th, call in sick, just to go riding, Vaughan

Last day of the season? Wut? Are you the guy that puts the xmas lights and decorations up as soon as kids go back to school? Summer ends Sept 20th. Last year we had some 15C days all the way into late november. January had a freakishly warm day too, I remember going out with 5 other riders.

Shell Rotella T6 at Canadian Tire: 25% Off + $7 Rebate

It's also full synthetic. In a sealed jug it would be more than fine.

Um, Krypton. I thought it was a well known part of Superman's origins.

How fast am I really going?

I recently tested mine. It has a 6-7 Percent difference between speedo and gps-calculated speed. Also changing sprocket sizes will affect some bikes. It depends where the reading comes from. My bike reads from the transmission, sprocket size change will affect me. My previous bike took speed...

    2013 Demo Days

Nah. The bike's plenty fun as it is. It's just a toy/daily rider. Don't need to set landspeed records with it. In regards to topic, I was curious to try the Cross Plane R1.

    2013 Demo Days

I personally dislike all these electronics tampering with the machine. Applies to 4-wheeled vehicles too. Thanks for all the info, makes me feel better about my choice of bike. My limited budget was the primary factor originally though, lol.

    2013 Demo Days

Makes sense, coincides well with what I felt. Didnt really have a chance to bring it to the "kick in the pants" range though as the demo was full of cruisers, and also led by one. When I first learned about the fly-by-wire stuff for the 06+, i knew it was badnewsbears. I guess Yamaha is just...

    2013 Demo Days

I tried the 2013 R6. Compared to my 2003, its gutless in the lower rpm's, very forgiving on a demo ride where you wont get a chance to open her up. I was a bit disappointed really. The throttle-by-wire crap is actually annoying. On my bike if i snap the throttle a bit it winds nicely. On the...

    2013 Demo Days

would you ride to PA with my rear tire?

Second picture shows you are pretty close to the center wear bar. Mileage-wise you should be ok but should be prepared to put on a new one when you return. Dont forget the center of your tire is thinner so it's easier to puncture. Something as simple as a decent size stone with a sharp edge...

How safe is your pair of gloves? Pics.

The Dainese held up because it uses real leather and it's not paper thin. You have to sacrifice a bit of throttle feel to use them. The street versions of gloves provide great feedback from the bars and still help compared to no glove at all, but they aren't designed for 200kmh+ slides like...

Question regarding an 2002 R6...potential purchase

Another benefit to the second gen is fuel injection. I have an 03 with 46000kms now, still runs great. Since March i've done 13000 so far. I do spend time maintaining the machine though and have replaced many things as part of maintenance.

    a beginner biker under 2000$

Nothing wrong with a gs500. It's a basic bike so expect the basics. Just like any other bike, take care of it and it'll last a long time. The gf has one and i do the maintenance for her. Other than oil changes, the only thing I had to change was the signal relay (very slow blink issue). A...

Question regarding an 2002 R6...potential purchase

Definitely new tires. Pretty sure they will be way past the allowed age. A sitting vehicle that acquires no mileage for such a long time is just as much a gamble as the same age vehicle with incredibly high mileage. I'd pick the high mileage one for the fact that parts have been moving and...
