Holy crap guys. North American guys trying to start from relative scratch to build top quality bikes to compete with the mass marketed and manufactured overseas bikes and I see nothing (minus a few) but negative comments. Ya the price is high.....called economy of scale.....and the fact that...
Friend of mine and I just completed a loop around Algonquin Park starting from North Bay. Came across some fantastic roads and thought I'd share if you are looking for smooth roads with big sweeping turns and lots of hills (ain't we all?).
By far some of the best riding I've come across in...
+1 on this! Bought mine from the States...and never regretted a single $ spent on it. Sell the bike and you keep the pad for your next one....far better than buying a $400 (or more) aftermarket seat and having to sell it with the bike.
Guys be extra careful up here during your ride. We've got lots of deer who are seemingly attracted to bikes. Where there is one....there are at least one or two more. We almost got nailed the other day.
Ride safe.
I have both heated grips and handguards.......these ones.... http://www.powermadd.com/products/starserieshandguard.html
They don't fit on the bar ends but work very well on the cold days when heated grips alone won't suffice.
Mind do restrict my bars from being able to turn to their fullest...
Just rode from North Bay down to Sundridge and over to Parry Sound......colours are at about 25%.......couple more weeks and things will be looking pretty good.
Yamaha has said that there will be two more bikes for 2014 with triples.....the MT09 is one....I'm assuming it will be the FZ6R and the FZ1....we'll see I guess.
The link I posted doesn't want to work. If you go to "classic view" of google maps you can pull up Clear Lake and drop down into it for street view......it isn't paved.
I don't believe Clear Lake is paved....we missed the bunny trail and ended up at the start of it as a result....don't recall it being paved

If you want to go the cover route....then have a look at Respro....they make high quality stuff.....high viz.

Strongly suggest getting a dry bag (MEC is a good spot) and putting your gear in that.....then stuffing that into your backpack. Save you a ton of $$'s and you can be 100% guaranteed your stuff won't get wet. Dry bags come in diff sizes so just choose the same size your backpack is. Get to...
