    Advice on purchasing new tires?

Always use to get my tires from Pete’s Superbike when I was going through 2 or 3 sets a season. I’d order them online and they would be on my doorstep a day or two later, can’t beat their prices and convenience. GP Bikes prices are pretty good too. However, that was when I did my own tire swaps...

Looking for group going to Tuktoyaktuk / Alaska in 2023

I don’t think you would want to do the Dempster highway on an FJ1300 , at least I wouldn’t. It’s a long stretch of pretty rough road. I don’t think you could get up to speed on a big heavy bike like that. The FJ just wasn’t made for roads like that.

Looking for group going to Tuktoyaktuk / Alaska in 2023

Can you actually drive / ride to Tuktoyaktuk in the summer? I drove to Inuvik in 1986 and you had to fly in to Tuktoyaktuk, about a 20 minute flight. You could only drive in on an ice road during the winter. Warning, the bugs are absolutely brutal along the Dempster, avoid breakdowns or running...

I'm getting 8+ years out of my Yuasa battery (and you can too! lol)

I treated all my batteries exactly the same. The Japanese made Yuasa’s just lasted longer than the American made ones for whatever reason.

I'm getting 8+ years out of my Yuasa battery (and you can too! lol)

I always had good luck with the Yuasa batteries that come with most new Japanese bikes probably because they’re also made in Japan. I always got at least five years out of them. The replacement Yuasa batteries I was getting from GP Bikes were made in the USA and I typically got about 3 years out...

PA tire changer on sale Tuesday

That Rabaconda looks pretty slick.I had a Nomar Classic setup along with one of their balancers. It was a nice solid unit built to last a lifetime. I had it anchored to the garage floor so not very portable. The Rabaconda looks like it would be perfect for soft sport bike tires at the track, I‘d...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Had a nice new Craftsman snowblower about ten years ago, neighbor borrowed it and broke a shear pin. He replaced it with a grade 8 nut and bolt without telling me. Next day I use it to clear the frozen windrow at the end of my driveway.I’m really biting into some ice and the impeller and auger...

    Memorable bike events.

I saw Super Joe Einhorn brake the world indoor record, jumping I don’t know how many cars at the International Centre. He did it two nights in a row so it couldn’t have been that hard. Howard Cosell and Evel Knievel were there the first night as commentators for Wide World of Sports. I was there...

My brother drives a delivery truck for Canada Post. I call him the Parcel Arsehole. He’s the most entitled loser you’ve ever met.

I just tried to play a Neil Young song out in my garage and realized that he pulled his catalog from Spotify, so not exactly a perfect set up. Some might disagree.

    Jay Leno at it again

I’ve ridden a few H2s back in the day and the ’72 was definitely the best year. Each year they got noticeably slower due to carburation and exhaust changes to meet emisions. My brother had a real nice ‘72 with chambers and K+N pod filters that had the carbs set up by someone that really knew...
