Bike backed into TWICE in a week

It's right on the street unfortunately and houses around there don't have driveways. No one would notice the pilons though maybe they'll stop when they hit it before they hit the bike. I sure like the inflatable tube man idea! :D Thanks for the ideas and the sympathies! Looks like the part I...

Bike backed into TWICE in a week

Yeah, a flag may be better than nothing. Just have to find a way to attach it to the cover. That's the kinda thing I was imagining but it'd be hard to move every time and I can't leave it on the street as it would be kind of like reserving parking on a city street. Would be pretty sweet...

Bike backed into TWICE in a week

Yeah, I have them. I think that's what saved me the first time. Second hit appears to be diagonal from the front. Maybe someone trying to do a 3 point turn on the street and backing into it that way. Very creative-like!

Bike backed into TWICE in a week

Just as I was thinking I might be back to riding in a week or so, cars backed into my bike twice this week. The first time a neighbour witnessed it, there was no damage and the lady was very apologetic. The second was today and I didn't get as lucky. Plastics on the left side are damaged...

Joe Rocket jacket - Ballistic 11.0, high viz, M ($110)

I'm selling a used Joe Rocket high viz jacket, perfect for both cold and warm weather (once you strip off all the liners). It comes with 2 (!) removable liners that break it down to a mesh jacket. Various pockets and zippers that open up mesh vents for warmer days. It's been used for maybe a...

    who's still riding? (in toronto)

FZ8. Looks like I'll be riding it! It's like spring time is upon us but not really. :(

    who's still riding? (in toronto)

I'm debating picking up my bike from snow city tomorrow during the day and riding it to downtown. It's either that or getting it towed, seeing how there's more snow coming. Anyone have any experience with kennedy north of lawrence today? Rode my bicycle downtown today and it was fine.

    Winter Riding Gloves

Not to be a downer but I don't think such a glove exists. Kinda depends on what speeds you go at too. For city riding, you can get away with it. For highway... Not too bulky and able to keep your hands warm, especially at high speeds... The only thing that can do that is a heated glove. Once...

    Header pipes colouration

I tapped the pipies after a short idle (and after making sure they won't strip the skin off my fingers) and, from what I can tell, all 4 of them were more or less equally hot. I think things are just fine and I'll be on the lookout for any spark plug issues when I'm going over things in the...

    Header pipes colouration

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll give it a go tomorrow.

    Header pipes colouration

Yeah I know it's normal to be coloured but was worried about the difference of colouration levels. Runs fine so I guess it's safe to assume everything's alright. Thanks!

    Header pipes colouration

Hi all, I've noticed the header pipes of my yamaha having different amounts of colour. It's a new bike at around 8,000 km. Is that normal? As you can see pipe #2 hardly has anything. I'm not the proud owner of the first 3 cylinder fz8, am I? :p

How long do traffic/parking court appearances last?

Thanks! Ended up being around 20 for me which was a relief.

How long do traffic/parking court appearances last?

Does anyone have any experience fighting parking tickets? I have a date and time set for tomorrow but I also have a flight in the evening and I don't want to risk missing that in case the court thing takes forever. I know they schedule a number of people for the same time and it would be...

sv650 to fz8 - am i going to be downgrading?

Speaking of longer trips, I had to get an aftermarket seat for my 2012 fazer. Not sure if the stock seat has improved at all since but I sure needed a replacement. As for not feeling the difference at lower speeds... Yeah. Others said it - it's a 4 cylinder. Crank it up and see what happens.

Man, 62, murdered over scooter/car collision.

Fair enough! I have no doubt that most thieves/drug dealers reoffend. My specific worry comes with murders and I don't think that most of those do. I agree it's a hot potato issue but I have no fixes either. I don't think life imprisonment is the answer (as you can probably tell). We read about...

Man, 62, murdered over scooter/car collision.

Did they reoffend? That's what Craneopbru was alluding to. I have no doubt that there are criminals who get away with less than what we think they deserve. Some probably get more (especially drug-related offenses, in my view). Happens everywhere. My point is it's not the regular occurrence that...

Man, 62, murdered over scooter/car collision.

Cool story, bro. There is an oft-cited perceived lack of crime punishment in Canada, which is complete bs. The US has the highest prison population and they somehow still have a much bigger crime problem on average than us. How often does the scenario that you're predicting actually happen? Are...
