My Insurance Dropped From $1,047 to $876 (A Year)

I left them after the bad claims experience. They couldn't find a shop that could paint my car properly so they were going to write it off. Turned out the first terrible shop in the process used a non-paintable product under my paint which is why the next shops they sent me to couldn't fix it...

    Royal Enfield Himalayan

To be fair the engine in it is already the 300cc parallel twin from the Ninja 300 (tuned slightly differently). They just upgraded the Ninja and probably didn't update the Versys. The power to weight ratio tells me it should be fine but it isn't going to be a rocket. Then again my bike's got...

My Insurance Dropped From $1,047 to $876 (A Year)

I had a terrible experience dealing with Wawanesa when I had to make a claim. The broker also called me annoying for just trying to ensure I didn't break their rules regarding mods and whatnot.

Recommend a medium size but compact (flat) socket set?

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately the first two have no deep sockets and the last one has stuff in the lid and lots of unused space so not as compact as I'd like. I'm picky. That's why I need help, lol. Have skimmed Home Depot, Lowes, Canadian Tire, eBay, Try Hard Industrial...

Recommend a medium size but compact (flat) socket set?

I had this and while it was old, rusty, and a cheap brand, it had almost all the sockets I need and I love how efficiently the space in the case is used. I think the case was under 2" thick which meant I could just slide it under something in my trunk. But someone stole it from the trunk of...

What do you look for in a shop ?

    1. Will they even work on my bike/car? (Often this is a no because of what I have.) 2. Have I been there before and did I pay what I thought was reasonable/have a good experience? 3. Reviews. 4. What's the hourly rate? 5. Will they let me bring my own parts?

Mesh Gear That Will Hold Up to a Slide?

The New Wave is their new single layer that performs a step below their fully lined Voyager pants while being lighter (according to them) than even regular jeans. I'm not gonna start commuting at 120+ in flip flops lol. I'll leave that for those more crazy than me. I did finally see that some...

Mesh Gear That Will Hold Up to a Slide?

Fair and I agree. But there's not much else to go by other than comparing specs.

Mesh Gear That Will Hold Up to a Slide?

Agree. So I was chatting with Resurgence Gear via Facebook and they told me their New Wave pants meet EN 13595 level 1 and all specs of level 2 except seam burst. They claim EN 13595 level 1 exceeds the specs of the newer EN 17092 class AAA. They said any garment that meets EN13595 level 1...

    Crossing solid yellow lines

I think R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 668, s. 10 (6) is what we were talking about? Some of these are stupid. Someone can ram you as you're turning left while they are driving in the wrong lane and somehow you are both at fault? I also like how if you're stopped with another vehicle stopped behind you and...

Mesh Gear That Will Hold Up to a Slide?

Interesting. Looking those up lead me to this article. Any of the materials experts care to comment on the validity of this? https://www.motolegends.com/why-you-should-not-buy-a-pair-of-kevlar-motorcycle-jeans It claims leather has a slide time of 4-5 seconds while PEKEV does over 10. It also...

Mesh Gear That Will Hold Up to a Slide?

Yeah mine ripped open instantly. Then again as a kid I’ve ripped them just from tripping while running.

Mesh Gear That Will Hold Up to a Slide?

I found out the hard way jeans won't even hold up to that.

    Is this filtering?

Right lane is often the fast lane these days. If you're being passed on the right it usually means you are in the wrong lane.
  16. U

    Is this filtering?

That books is free online and passing on the right is completely acceptable in Ontario if not absolutely required.

    Is this filtering?

I read a post on here a few years ago of a group charged with stunting for doing that. Think they beat it in court but you're still out a couple thousand for that charge even if you win.

    Crossing solid yellow lines

To be fair even the laws contradict each other sometimes. For example speeding to pass is illegal (speeding charge) but passing too slowly is actually even more illegal (stunting charge).

    Is this filtering?

Agree. I don't think sharing with parked cars counts as filtering though.

    Is this filtering?

So many people saying you can't share a lane with a parked car in this thread but every previous thread until this one said it was. I do it on my motorcycle. If my car fits I do it in that too (along with everyone else I see) but that's pretty rare. Far as I know filtering/lane splitting only...
