    Harley Davidson Bareknuckle

They look cool but the ergonomics on that custom look horrid. Folded over like on a V-rod. Who's Harley's test dummy?

    Big Box Prices

Last time I went to McDonald's, a Big Mac meal rung it at $10! I couldn't believe it. That's all I needed to discourage me from going to McD's ever again! Lots of better/cheaper options. Big box prices do not = quality.

    Freedom Machine Rally

I may head over and check it out for a couple hours Saturday. My brother lives 20 minutes away so it's an excuse to get up north & visit him. Looks like an interesting scene, although I'm no hipster; I'm more of the age for hip replacement!

Tell me more about your FT500. I’m looking for a small, interesting city bike and don’t mind doing some work to fix it up.

July 1st long weekend, 2019 - Mt Washington 3 days

I have that exact same picture with me posing in front of the sign at the top. The ride down is interesting. Better have good brakes!

    Need a shop recommendation

If the mechanic at Corsa Meccanica is still Rob, he was the mechanic at Rocket Cycle for many years and is good at his job.

    New and Old Rider Here

Don't buy somebody's homemade bobber. You don't know how well the work has been done & you're taking on a liability with $0 resale value. As an, ahem, older rider, I find sport bikes put too much strain on my wrists and I've also learned that you will never be able to use one to it's full...

Why Harley-Davidson Owners Hate the Street 500 and 750 Motorcycles

As insipid as the Ascots were, they are somewhat collectable (not to be confused with valuable) these days, especially the FT500. Not too many simple, standard big singles out there, and there never were a lot here in North America (Yammie SR500 also comes to mind). I can't see the Street models...

Why Harley-Davidson Owners Hate the Street 500 and 750 Motorcycles

A guy in my office just bought a Street 500 last week as his first bike after talking about buying a bike for 2 years. I didn't have the heart to tell him he could've done much better! But at least I get to look at a rare bike every day.

    So many accidents already.

Cell phones have screwed things up for us. No one in charge seems to care about doing anything about it . Be wary, assume you're invisible and drivers don't give a crap about you. Know your bike's controls and limits for emergency avoidance and practice them.

Getting Insurance for a Sports Motorcycle After 1 Claim

I didn't know SS's were cheaper to repair than cruisers. Where's the data? I'm very interested in your research. ........And that's not even the most illogical part of your post.

How many kilometers do you put on your motorcycle(s)?

I average 10,000km+/season. That's over more than 40 years of riding - 400,000+ km! I switched bikes every 2 years except for my current Superglide Custom, which I'm on my 4th season - I love that bike and I'll hang on to it as long as possible. it's at 52000 km. Gas, tires, oil & GO! Since I...

    Moto Social

My condo has an actual car wash station in the back. Basically just a hose and a space for washing so I have to bring down my own bucket of suds and cleaning supplies.

    Toronto To Montreal.

I don't even mind taking the 401 all the way. Get to Montreal in under 5 hours and you win a prize! Once you're there, you can ride up into the Laurentians which is beautiful.

This trend to retro motorcycles with kick starters

I had a ‘78 Suzuki GS550 with a kickstarter. That was back when Suzuki first started using electric starters so the kickstart was used frequently because the electric starters were unreliable. If your battery was any less than 100%, you’d be kicking!
