Allen Millyard - probably my favourite of the bunch (genius english engineer who combines multiple motors into one with a band saw and a welder, unreal stuff. Amongst a lot of other things...
Cast wheels on a supermoto makes no sense to me. Look great but functionality wise.... supermotos should be able to take some abuse.... small hill jumps, curbs, you name it. They crack too easy.
If Road 5's were cheaper I get the argument but honestly they are ungodly expensive (albeit good tires....) so not hard to justify something with objectivetely a softer compound and more grip for people who won't even use a full set in a season. (5-10k KM/year). I'd take a Q3+ over Road 5 in...
Personally wouldn't want something that much wider than my actual bike, I guarantee I would bang it off something misjudging a gap in traffic or something out of habit.
These blue plated before the rule changed supermotos are definitely worth a bit of money. Not $12k obviously but I do wonder what the right person would pay for it. Pretty limited options for these legit supermotos for the road these days. Most of the grandfathered bikes are completely clapped...
Agree about the B4FM. 3 of my friends and I all use them. For my purpose it's perfect. I listen to music and take phone calls/talk to other people with the unit and it works just fine.
My brain went to the same when my 600 insurance got stupid cheap.... less than $40 a month. Thought a 1000 would be easy now, NOPE. Big difference and still expensive.
Amazing tires, the grip for the life is unmatched from what I've seen. I got over 11,000km on my last rear on a 600 and that's with no wire showing of course (but was very worn...). I keep buying them and having a hard time justifying anything else. Don't get them if you only ride straight...
That's fair, I forgot they used belts. That actually doesn't seem hard to do from what I've seen in the past so I guess some big money to be saved by someone fairly handy. I know I would do it myself.
Did they use desmo valves in those? I wouldn't tangle with that probably.
