    Used throttle body?

Ya I was looking through the service manual also. I think if the subthrottle valve actuator was shot it would always be finicky/not working rather than very intermittent (3 times since September). TB sync, check vacuum lines, and test the subthrottle actuator Friday morning. If I did need a...

    Used throttle body?

Fi code 62 popped up my 2009 zx6r the other day. It's a subthrottle valve actuator. It's popped up 3 times since September, 2 times being within the last 500km. Only happens after cruising in 1st gear at slow speeds then cranking it open a bit. Fi light will come on and then it idles around...

RTI M2X Course, Test without highway portion

Ya they won't have an issue with her using your bike. I had a friend do this with a buddies bike as he didn't have a bike at the time his M2 was going to expire. You will need to be there with her if shes using your bike and show the instructor your registration, insurance, and drivers licence...

    2020 Yamahas

Haha ya, not worth it. I have the 2009 Monster Energy zx6r...I wound't pay the extra money for it brand new, but it was a great deal used, so I said the heck with it. The R3 Monster edition seems to have too much going on also. But overall, the new R3 is freakin beautiful. Inverted shocks...

    ECU Flash

JSFlashtune does good work. He also offers 2 future flashes in his package. So if you get a new exhaust or change something on your bike that needs re-flashing, he will do it for not extra charge. I think the package is around $500 and includes a bunch of dyno runs on speedlabs dyno jet.

    Tuning Suspension

After dong some thinking and research, before getting my suspension properly set up, I am going to get my fork oil changed. I don't think that the previous owner changed the fork oil on the bike as it had 20,000km when I purchased it off him. Now its sitting just shy of 31,000km I think its a...

    Tuning Suspension

Nope, no lowering kit installed on this bike. I talked to the previous owner (original owner), and he didn't touch the suspension, which brings me to the conclusion it is still at the stock settings. I haven't changed the fork oil in the last 11,000kms....that would actually be a good start. I...

    Tuning Suspension

I am planning on getting Steve from SJ Powersports Woodbridge to do it for me. He worked at Champion for years and opened his own shop. He knows his stuff. If anyone went to Champion, you would know Steve. He's a great guy!

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

Update folks. I have put about 150 km on my bike since Friday evening. Haven't had a hiccup since! It was either the loose compartment under my seat causing the battery, ECU, and main relay to get all wacky, or the gunked up connection that leads towards kickstand/gear shifter was cutting out...

    Tuning Suspension

Hi everyone, I am considering tuning my suspension. I am 5'11 172lbs and ride a 2009 zx6r. Does anyone know what weight the stock zx6r suspension is dialed in for? A good friend of mine got his suspension dialed in on his '08 GSXR and said the bike feels completely different, in a good way...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

I cleaned a connector under my stator that was completely gunked up. It leads towards kickstand switch and gear position switch. I temporarily stuffed a rag towel between the battery and the frame so there is no more wiggling/bouncing around of the compartment that contains battery, wires, ecu...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

Ya PCV is still connected. You really think that's the issue eh? Maybe I will prop the tank, take air boxoff again and put back in the stock connectors to injectors. I have my mind set on an intermittent electrical issue/short/ground/switch/sensor issue. Pisses me off though because when shes...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

Ya at this point I'm ready to bring it to Steve at SJ Powersports and say have the bike as long as you want until the issue is fixed. Did sidestand switch test yesterday in 1st gear. Wiggled it around, and put it down a tad and it wasn't affecting anything. Wiggled a ton of wires when it was...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

Thanks, I love the bike and take really good care of it... Follow the maintenance schedule always. When I changed the spark plugs we didn't bother testing the ignition coil because all plugs looked the same. If one was alot worse than others I'd be concerned and test. I don't have the tools for...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

The spark plugs were jdut replaced and they were all looking a bit rich. Plug caps (ignition coil?) seemed to be fine as all plugs were same. Not if one of the spark plugs was super toast and the rest were ok I'd be testing it. Or should I test them anyways? Don't have the tools to do it and I...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

I looked at it last night but realized I had it in neutral and not 1st gear running on the rear stand. I will take a look at that this evening. Wouldn't the side stand cause the bike to just shut off though? And it if in neutral at a stop it would be idling fine because it only effects the bike...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

Yep same issue. If you look close enough to the piece near my battery and top of fuse box. It is scuffed up from hitting the white plastic under my seat from what I assume is from bouncing around.

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

Well guys I think I am getting closer and closer. Think I have narrowed it down to an intermittent electrical issue. Burlington Cycle had my bike for 4 hours and re checked the valves, timing, vacuum lines and a bunch of other stuff. They were nice enough not to charge me for the service. Also...

Backfiring, stalling, and throatier than usual

I thought I mentioned that it had a power commander and a proper tune in my origional post... Oopsie. It was running fine with the tune up until the valve clearance (6000+km). I'll know Wednesday night tho if it still is acting up or not tho.... Strange how when u bring vehicles to the mechanic...
