2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

More rumours: There is speculation that Alex Rins has an out clause in his contract which might make him available to Yamaha. It's only speculation though because Rins' contract details of it being a 1+1 were never revealed (like Jorge Martin). Otherwise, the same speculation has Jake Dixon...

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

Not publicly. I have to believe that is last on their list of things to try as that would probably set them back even more time to get back to competitiveness although it can't get much worse. In the meantime, they're looking at: 1. they want to understand what the fuel change impact will...

Not surpring but a disproportionate amount of the injuries are coming from non-ducati riders. they're all trying to out-talent the gaps in the machines.

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

Eventful weekend. The races themselves had little overtaking, but boy there was a lot of crash carnage. Marquez and Quartararo are now injured - Quartararo is having surgery tomorrow. 2024 silly season speculation: Morbidelli and Arbolino are vying for a Gresini seat. Didn't say who they'd...

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

This is it. I also think that Martin has more natural(?) talent. To your point about being a sprint specialist, I think Bagnaia could accept that, but now that Martin has won a race, he's now proving that he can be just as effective at a race distance which is what I would think would start to...

It's startling to think that way, but it's true.

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

I think Martin is a championship contender. In some respects, I think Martin is a better rider than Bagnaia - more raw ability? Can't put my finger on it. He had a gloves off battle with Bagnaia and won. Bagnaia was diplomatic about it, but I have to believe on some level, he feels...

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

Is anyone thinking that Martin could win the championship this year? He's been having increasingly dominant pace in the sprints, and now he's starting to find his pace in the races.

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

I just read Marquez's quotes: “I'm angry because if somebody can avoid the situation it was Johann,” Marquez said. “I mean, the guy that is coming out of the pit lane is the guy that needs to watch behind and if somebody is coming, especially in the last minute [of a session], you need to stop...

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

I think Ducati now beating Kawasaki is going to demotivate them from coming into MotoGP even that much more. I would dare say the odds of them leaving WSBK is higher than joining MotoGP.

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

What is remarkable is that Honda and Yamaha are still getting beat by the GP22 nevermind the GP23, which is telling us that their bikes did not improve over last season. In Yamaha's case, it looks like it got worse. Kind of amazing that Rins won a race the more the season goes on.

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

    1. Marquez has still shown enough in bits and pieces this season that he can still be a contender. 2. I don't think it was on purpose. Bagnaia was out of sync with the rest of the qualifiers. Not entirely sure why but Bagnaia went on his second stint earlier than everyone else. I don't...

    Pfaff Ducati in Vaughan?

This is anecdotal and a few years ago - GP charged premium rates for working on my Ducati at the time compared to other brands of bikes (e.g. Honda, Kawasaki, etc). Maranello had the same labour rate when they worked on my bike as well. So my speculation is that another Ducati dealer will not...

    Pfaff Ducati in Vaughan?

let's see how this goes. Ducati is cursed in this area. First it was Ride, and then Maranello. Neither lasted very long.

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

You have to give Ducati and KTM some credit - they are investing heavily in the sport. Ducati is running 8 bikes KTM has 4 factory bikes (self, Tech3), sponsors 6 bikes in Moto2 (Ajo, Aspar, Intact) and has 8 factory bikes in Moto3 (Tech3, Ajo, Aspar, Intact) Even if KTM does not have 6...

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

Yup. Especially with the sprint format, if Honda or Yamaha get that working better, they'll gain a lot of spots by that alone. Once they're up front, everyone else will cook their tires before they can find their way passed the KTMs.

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

New speculation that Pedro Acosta is coming to MotoGP in 2024 with KTM (inc. GasGas). That does not surprise me - but someone is going to have to go. It has to be either PEspargaro or Agusto Fernandez - I doubt Binder or Miller would be replaced. The wild rumour now is that KTM is going to...
