Do you fit the stereotype for your bike?

Since I bought a new r1200gs adventure when I was 30 and am not a middle aged doctor or lawyer I’d say no I don’t fit the stereotype. Since I was an 18 Year old student when I bought my new Gsxr1000 and wasn’t a squid, I’d also say that I didn’t fit the stereotype although assumptions were...

    COVID-19 potential restrictions on riding?

If you can swing it don't sell the bike if you need the cash, as you won't get that much for it in the big picture. Better off using a temp loan worst case if possible and just repaying that when times improve without losing the bike.

    Insurance Refunds from Desjardins

Perfect. I just transferred my bikes out of my Allstate policy and kept the cars. Works for me.

    COVID-19 potential restrictions on riding?

Well said. Just be extra mindful of the other drivers out there. While there's less of them out there, I'm noticing more erratic or absent minded behaviour than ever in the few times I've been out (in the car, no bike yet). Yesterday I was driving behind a car with it's front driver side wheel...

Writing off the season? Any recommendations to downgrade insurance coverage?

Just a reminder for those thinking of temporarily stopping coverage on a bike or car. Whatever you do, don’t cancel your insurance completely as it will negatively effect your future when you try and get things reinsured. Continuous coverage history is very important. Opt to reduce coverage to...

Writing off the season? Any recommendations to downgrade insurance coverage?

Spoke to a Wawanesa broker last week and while they previously allowed one bike to be on fire/theft coverage if the other remained fully insured, they're looking at making an exemption to allow BOTH bikes to go fire/theft due to COVID. Haven't got official confirmation yet, but will follow up soon.

    COVID-19 potential restrictions on riding?

BC has managed to do a great job at flattening the curve and their rates of infection are drastically reducing. Ontario and QC have a way to go... fingers crossed we can start showing better figures soon.

    COVID-19 potential restrictions on riding?

I'm shopping for insurance and will be switching over this week. I asked the question about putting only fire and theft on bikes if I can't ride and was told that insurance companies are looking to make an exception and grant this kind of coverage for motorcycles based on the current situation...

    COVID-19 potential restrictions on riding?

Side relevance, but watching car Youtubers lately can be infuriating. The crap they're doing on public roads for views is idiotic. Like this BC local who's bringing his daughter out to have some smoke show fun in his Ferrari while blurring out the backgrounds so he can't be located. Then talks...

    COVID-19 potential restrictions on riding?

I agree riding at all is becoming questionable but I currently do feel there's nothing wrong with an even-more-cautious-than-usual solo ride the odd time a week, providing you're leaving the house prepared and venturing well away from the more heavily populated areas. That said, I passed a group...

    COVID-19 potential restrictions on riding?

Imagine being at home with a 1 year old and 3 year old (that have way too much displaced energy being cooped up) + wife trying to get creative conceptual work done in a tiny room on constant tight deadlines. My contract will be up prematurely next week due to the virus and although I won’t have...
