If anyone wants to play shoot me a message. I’m social and like to ride bikes. on road and off-road. Although pretty slow off-road. Crazzies that ride 2stroke on the pipe need not apply. I will pull out on to a hwy and dust your ass. 😉

So the videos were made by my riding buddy who bought the 2021 KTM 890 ADV. He is the one that talked me into trying dirt again on my 1190. I am leading on my 2015 1190. These clips were in Northumberland forest. Allen is running Dunlop mission trail max Im running Conti TKC80 front and a TKC 70...

There is definitely a learning curve. But your X I would think is more than capable of fire road and double track. When I brought home my 1190 I hit the gravel on a seasonal road and crashed. For two years I didn’t go on trails thinking it was to big of a bike. This is not true. Depending on...

Exactly the above posted bikes are grossly underpowered for what I want but my 1190 is grossly overweight for others. Although I just got in from a quick little rip on the 1190 and if you need more sport bike than that you best be on a track. Even on knobby tkc80 that thing is way more sport...

Good comparison If you find someone that does everything you could ever want. Cooks, Cleans, runs the kids all over. Take home to mom, live with for years with no drama, let’s you have multiple hobbies, great between the sheets. Do you pass because she’s heavier than your high school fling...

My 2015 Ktm 1190 adventure May I introduce the fat unicorn >400 km tank range (and then some) Good power for both hauling luggage, passing trucks on the interstate and putting a smile on your face (and then some) Good ergos for highway and dirt (I think it’s fine) Maintenance intervals...

    Big bike off-road guidance

Today we toured from Bowmanville over to Northumberland forest for some trail riding. We rode some nice country roads north of Newcastle and Port Hope taking us to Harwood road. Once we arrived at the start of the trail edge. The end of Turk road I stopped and put the big bike in Off-Road mode...

Actually the trend in ADV as of late is actually smaller les powerful lighter bikes. My 1190 is no longer produced and yes it was replace by the 1290 but they have also started producing the 890 classed as a middle weight ADV it’s lighter better balanced has cruise and all the bell and whistles...

I just find peoples expectations of adv bikes is ridiculous. They are not dirt bikes or sport bikes. But an adv bike is a better dirt bike than a sport bike and a better sport bike than a dirt bike. Is the glass half full or half empty. As I’ve said before I don’t think anyone would want to ride...

Exactly Im no Chris Birch any more than all these guys on their SS are Rossi. But just the same you can enjoy off-road rides without flying through the air just the same as a Super sport is an enjoyable experience at under 200kmph

Your not wrong But what if you want to experience all the rides in one ride. I often find the road I’m exploring will turn from asphalt to gravel then possibly into a seasonal road and back again.

Each their own I guess. I would rather have to wrestle my bike in the trail than ride a dirt bike on the road. I would rather have a porky street bike in the twisties than pack my gear on a super sport bike. Some people think it’s jack of all trades master of none. But it does everything I ask...

When you say the idea of off-roading on an ADV bike is all clever marketing what extremes are you talking about? Because yes you very much can go off-Road on a 600 pound ADV bike. No it’s not a dirt bike any more than a dirt bike can be a touring bike. It’s a compromise. Most sport bikes or...

On Sunday I was heading up to Algonquin for my second weekend in a row. Instead of taking 35 all the way I took a couple detours. Not knowing what I was going to find for roads. One was gravel but I found a road heading north off 118 called Kushog rd. OMG 😱 it was epic and awesome in every way...
