basically my goal is to get a list of about 5 or 6 bikes that will do what I will use them for and are in a similar price point then when it’s time to buy I can see what’s available around me both new or used and narrow down my purchase
It’s still an option but honestly gonna see if I can find one a little cheaper also I think I’m gonna go for more of a street/ sport bike over a dual sport as the more I’ve talked to people and thought about it I’ll basically just be doing paved road driving and highway driving. Might go for...
I appreciate it unfortunately every insurance quote I’ve gotten for a bike above 500cc has been ludicrously high. I’d rather be a little cramped and uncomfortable for a few years and be able to afford insurance then go for something bigger once the insurance rate drops for me
I
m 6ft 4 and 210lbs so likely would be too small but I was pointed in some good directions to get some decent gear before my class starts I really do appreciate the offer though
Yo this might be a good option as well thank you so much. Another person on here might be selling me a jacket and pants for $50 but if they don’t fit I’m definitely gonna look into this
I’ll take it man that would be amazing though I will say I have pretty long arms but I can make due if they’re a little short I definitely don’t want to skimp out on safety stuff so that would be amazing
Understood my jacket is pretty decent in terms of tear resistance. I work heavy labour at an airport and in 10 months with a few close calls and a few not my fault injuries there’s been no tears so far. It also doubles as a rain jacket and I’ll bring sunglasses but my helmet also has a drop...
Hey guys one more thing I should ask my training with learning curves is happening on the 22nd and 23rd of this month. I already have a helmet and gloves that meet regulations but the info packet for the course says to bring both denim pants and a sturdy jacket preferably with padding. I don’t...
Also I will say this not super concerned about price my main focus is the insurance costs so about 400cc seems to be my max for my insurance to stay “reasonable”. Only reason I looked on kijiji and auto trader tonight is just incase I found the bike I wanted at a really good deal but overall...
That’s an idea that totally slipped my mind thanks for the reminder. I’ll do some digging though gotta put a pin it tonight. I have adhd and my meds are wearing off and I know if I look at anymore bikes I’m gonna end up on a hyper focus rabbit hole and be looking at bikes for the next 4hrs...
Not yet but I messaged the dealer to see if they had one I could look and and sit on. Likely still got a good month- 2 months before I’m getting a bike
I’ll have to take a harder look then unfortunately I’m a bit limited by distance I gotta borrow my parents jeep to pick it up most likely as I’ll be fresh out of my M2 riders course with still very little experience. Parents won’t let me go further than like Toronto distance so about 45 mins to...
Makes sense thanks though I will say this I will have enough very soon for a bike I really like. A brand new 2021 ninja 400 ABS my parents really like it
I’m back once again I’ve started the hunt for my first bike found one on Kijiji for $3500 it’s a 2011 ninja 400 slight cosmetic damage from a static drop. It does have 40,000km on it but according to seller had the breaks, oil, battery and filters either inspected or changed recently. Parents...
Of course I’m not looking to do any mods at the moment only thing I might do is possibly remove the handle guards though tbh after looking at it more I think I might prefer them on
Just wanna say I really appreciate everyone’s help I will never turn down free advice from people way more knowledgeable than myself. You all have been fantastic and have turned this from a kinda daunting wish thing into something I feel like I can realistically do
Don’t worry one step ahead on that there as well. I gotta wait till Friday for some extra cash from work but I’m gonna go do learning curves out towards Kitchener I would do the Toronto beaches one but at least if I do Kitchener my aunt and uncles house is near the place where they do it so I...
I’ll check them out the cfr was recommended to me but after some research it’s not quite what I’m looking for. I’ll check out your other 2 recommendations but just from experience on the bikes they’ve let me sit on my highest level of comfort has been with the KTM
