It's about the size of a nickel. It's in my V Strom. There are 4 separate inlets to a strainer about the size of a flip phone. I think I will leave it until the next time I need or want to remove the fuel tank, like for air filter service, which I recently did. Removing it is a PIA.
I thought about something like that. I could make one with stuff I have. I'm fearful of gas fumes accumulating in my vacuum to the point of explosion. Maybe it would be neat to blow up a shop vac, but then I'd need to buy a new one.
A camera is what I needed when it first happened, as the bike was upright on the centre stand. I hoped the gasket didn't slide too far down into the tank. Eventually I had to move the bike, so there's no doubt that now it is at the bottom somewhere. The tank is so narrow down there, that Its...
Thanks for the offer. I can't see it so have no idea where it is. It's a V Strom. The tank shape is the worst for this. I'm gonna have to remove it, but that isn't happening for quite a while.
I put a new roof on my old house. When I removed the old shingles I discovered a .30 calibre slug embedded point first into the roof sheathing right above my daughter's bedroom.
Went out for an enjoyable tour around some favourite spots for a few hours yesterday. Topped her up again on the way home. Thought I'd better replenish the stabilizer with another little splash. When I opened the bottle the little cardboard gasket popped out of the lid and fell right into my...
I topped up my bike with premium fuel and stabilizer before parking it on Saturday. 12 degrees forecast today. I think I'm gonna burn some of that stabilized fuel. Nuggy, where is your cottage? Sulphur is a big problem around here. Installing a softener helps to alleviate it.
I loved trials style riding in my youth; low speed riding over impossible and apparently impassable terrain on my Hodaka Wombat was a thrill. One of my regular routes took me across Mimico Creek, over the pedestrian bridge behind the then Kingsmill Collegiate. Several flights of stairs up the...
Very sad. Close to home for me on roads that I know very well; on my regular commute, and plowed both of them for years. I'm curious to know how this happened. CBC photo shows SUV with front wheels turned to the left...
Roads were brined yesterday in north York Region. Likely again today, as it was much colder; heavy frost this morning. Thursday's rain should wash it off, so we can have nice riding conditions for the weekend.
