    Canada Post - Huge losses

Eesh. They keep crying - we hit a high of 5.5B pieces of lettermail in 2006... We only did 2.2B a couple years ago. Now let's see the junk mail comparison. I bet we delivered at least 15B pieces of it last year, compared to 6B in 2006. Junk mail is a huge, easy income stream for CP. They pay...

    Vacations and big poppas adventures

Had a relationship with a Polish girl…. She was by no means a “femal Olympic wrestler.” She was the definition of an exquisite beauty. Unfortunately, no matter what I tried, laws and situation made it impossible for her to come here…. And I shocked the **** out of a couple of immigration lawyers...

    Vacations and big poppas adventures

A carry on luggage bag and my camera bag is enough for me for a week long trip to Europe. Life’s so much easier that way.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

For all foot walkers, it’s not our responsibility to get the carded items to the local pick up point. We bring it back to the depot, drop the item in a bin (we have about 8 bins with different postal locations in Guelph) for the office it’s going to. After that, it’s up the the afternoon/evening...

Actually, he’s correct… Parcel lockers are very commonplace in larger apartment buildings. And you’re also correct - lots of keys get broken now as the person with the key now has a ton more leverage due to the size of the key holder.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

As for the new vehicles in the USA... We've got about 6 of the new Ford truck based right hand drive vans in our depot. They've put in some really slick racks and easy delivery systems. Unfortunately, we've had 2 posties locked out of their vans, on route. Key doesn't work. Fob doesn't work...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

There's a ***HUGE*** push for compliance due to current CP/Union lockout/strike posturing and negotiations going on. CP likes to wield a stick, but never a carrot if you get my point. It's all about metrics to CP and the management. We did XYZ. Here, we can prove it on paper. Doesn't matter...

It depends on how many complaints he has been found guilty of in the past. If it’s his first time, likely a 3 day suspension without pay. If it’s his second, a week suspension without pay. Beyond that, likely a termination.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

I get it. I truly do. It’s also the most frustrating thing in the job aside from junk mail. We carry the stuff. I deliver about 10-15% of signature items, as people aren’t home. On an average day I have 7-12 signature items. On average I deliver 1 or 2. The rest get carded. I bring the package...

For me, it doesn’t matter if they’re recording their doorway. I count to 30 seconds before leaving. probably a slow count that is closer to 45 seconds. But yes, he just dropped the card and left. bad idea.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

I fill mine out in the depot every day, especially in the winter. I’ve had pens freeze, the adhesive on the not sticking because it’s too cold etc. Apply them when they’re warm, they stick. Besides, putting down mail bundles, having to write out the card, wait for person is just a pain in the...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Kind of amusing that CP doesn't share their numbers on the Sunshine List.... *Edit - Just googled it up. $500K / year for the CEO, not including bonuses.. You can get more than 10 low seniority permanent full time posties for that. Sigh.

    Gryphon Deals Gap Gloves

Sooo... an update on the gloves after about 1000km of riding. The right glove was a little tight across the the main thumb muscle, but it was stretched out a bit and now "fits like a glove". One point of negativity, is that 1 thread of the double stitching on the palm slider area has frayed and...

2024 MotoGP Discussion Thread (No Links - May Contain Spoilers

And Damn… FFS… The Hard Drive I stored all my motoGP/WSBK races from 2015 decided to crap out. And. The drive was only 3 months old. Sigh.

    M1 Insurance 2024

So… it really depends on what your home country is. if you’re anywhere near India, your licensing simply will not compute. There are no real “rules of the road” there - at least not like here. Every weekend I have students from around there, and they are, unfortunately some of the most difficult...

    Anyone into Photography?

It’s actually cheaper to take your files to WalMart and have them printed there as opposed to supplying your own high end paper and inks. I worked in the printing industry for 28 years… I have experience with this stuff.

OPP air enforcement in Dufferin / Caledon

Yup. A 4 lane road, with a centre turning lane all without a barrier between oncoming traffic lanes. Also one of the higher insurance rate roads (if you live on it) in the province.

Used to love those in my F150… right between the wheels, zero bump… Doesn’t work so well with my Nissan Frontier.

    Ktm street legal supersport

Panigale V2 will kick that KTM’s ass…. A 990cc parallel twin won’t be able to compete with the v2.
