Maple sap buckets hung but the snow is deep

I boiled what I had from the two trees and got a litre. I'll see how much I get this week.

    Coronavirus

Got my AZ lab last Thursday. No date given for when the second one will be. I can wait.

    Coronavirus

I (re)started University when I was 30. I had profs younger than me. I found I could understand the mindset of those profs closest in age to me, a lot better, and as such their courses seemed easier.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Well, I don't need to worry about nosey neighbours. I wouldn't want to block any view of the woods, but on the part I plan to stick out the end with the appliances, it wouldn't block much view.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Good point. I have some steel panels left from a refit at the soccer field that I will use for the roof. Trying to decide if I want to put something half-way up the sides for protection as well. I get out about once a week, even in the winter, but it's a real pain cleaning the snow and ice...

Maple sap buckets hung but the snow is deep

Yeah, I was half joking. I'm actually around 44.44, but I'm sure a big part of it is the shade in the area, and my neighbour's trees are on a North facing slope.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

When I built the house I had them put a tee on the propane line for future deck appliances. Finally built the deck last year, and am already planning on making it larger (don't tell the building dep't.) and adding a covered area for the BBQs and smokers.

Maple sap buckets hung but the snow is deep

Mine are barely running still. Same with the neighbours. Amazing what a few minutes of latitude can do.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

WOW. I'm not a great trainer because I don't have the patience, but that is not the way to do it.

Maple sap buckets hung but the snow is deep

As of last night mine still hadn't started. Must not be enough sun at the bottom of the hill.

Maple sap buckets hung but the snow is deep

You need to make sure you've got lots of iron in your pot, or the induction won't do anything. An old cast iron cauldron would be the bomb, except for the round bottom.

    Any GTAM'ers have a tiny/micro camper?

I had a truck camper by Suncamper that had a pop-up component. A couple of feet of fabric which allowed you to stand in it, but it didn't have the huge drag that a full height camper had. We did Alaska and the perimeter of the lower 48 back in '83. The nice thing about it is you could pop the...

Maple sap buckets hung but the snow is deep

I'll be tapping a few trees this weekend, only enough to get myself a couple of litres of syrup. My neighbour does a pile of it, so if need be I can grab more syrup from him.

M1 knowledge test expired in December 2019

I agree with canw and Kurt. That's the way I did it. I was warned not to take the cert to the MTO until the 60 days had passed.

    Your Age?

Good to hear you're still with us. It's been over a year since your last post and I thought we'd lost you.

    Your Age?

When I first went to Edmonton it was 22 cents in Ontario and only 11 in the chuk. Late 70s. I can remember $4.80 for a 24 of beer, but that was before I was legal. I think it was $5.20 by then.

    Covid shank

We were supposed to go to Newfoundland for a wedding, but that got postponed. We were planning on going for 2 or 3 weeks, with the wedding sandwiched in there. May go anyway this summer if possible.

    COVID and the housing market

If I was travelling with anyone else, that was always the way to go. Alone, I'm just as happy in my hotel room with a burger and inexpensive beer.

    COVID and the housing market

One summer when I was working in Jacksonville, I was scheduled to return for vacation. I asked if I could use the equivalent $$ and purchase tickets for my family to fly down instead. Since the company always paid top price for business class with flexible returns, I was able to fly the wife...
