If u don’t want to solder, use PEX…..might cost a bit more if u need to buy all the stuff, pex pipe, end clamps, tool to crimp etc not sure what u have or how handy u are .

turn off main water supply, cut off the caps, just use a pipe cutter and cut just before, and solder on new caps .
