I put the kickstand down and stand up with a bike underneath me. On short rides I’ve been doing that for 30 years so I was surprised to learn all these new rules. I’ve never dropped gas on my bike I’m super careful.
I guess possibility exists if you have a cruiser especially with 4 foot long pipes running the length of the bike. I feel safer on the bike fuelling up I’m inches away from the tank if I stand up I feel I’m disconnected and not so attentive.
funny how it is not a law so I’m torn between rules...
Cheers brother thanks.. I think it’s just for people that are new I’ve never heard of anyone catching fire. I feel safer on the bike and more attentive to the situation
Do you have an experience or something constructive to add I did not know this was a rule ,It definitely is not a law,I just want to understand better and hear experiences
In 30 years this is a new experience for me. I wonder if the industry has mandates to enforce this although it is not a law but I am on private property
Can you quote the exact part of this website where it states filling up at a gas station and dismounting. It was a shock to hear this today so I just wanna make sure I understand where the enforcement direction comes from. If it’s not a ticketable offence
I have never heard on CP 24 report a motorcyclist catching on fire in 30 years. It’s not a Ontario law ,my wife said it’s probably a Canadian tire policy
Been riding for 30 years was at the local Canadian tire gas station that I’ve been using for the last three years. Speaker comes on and tells me I must dismount my bike to put fuel in it. I did not do this finished my task. it is not a law anywhere. Is this a Canadian tire rule was the woman new...
I think ev’s are less than 5%. We’ll see what happens in battery technology in the next 5 to 10 years. No single mom will ever be able to afford a battery powered car I think that’s the main problem
I’m finding the spring prices are easily 1500 bucks higher for liter bikes. I guess that estimation may come down come September. I can’t believe my R1 is worth more than I bought it for six years ago
There are a few articles about this. Did British Columbia not say 2040 no more gas powered cars. Did the four Japanese motorcycle manufacturers agree on a standardized battery switching system. In 10 years will they have a battery strong enough to go 400 km that’s the only hurdle stopping this...
Start hoarding your gas powered motor bike. 2035 is the last possible year for gas powered motorcycles to be sold in Canada..
Last year they said motorcycles would not be included with the phase out of gas powered vehicles. With every elected official this will change how much longer do we have...

I am in Milton. Anyone got any knowledge of any DYno days just want to do a couple pulls with my bike. I think there's a guy in Oakville any other info would be appreciated thanks Dave
I Was good to go for 3 years with my current company and I guess I have read here that across-the-board rates have gone up. I'm almost 50 driving a super sport I'm not a goofball and that's what the previous rate was based on was my age. No accidents in 3 years so I think I should look around...
I have always wanted to check out the scene on Lakeshore in Mississauga. If there is enough of us from Milton that wants to go down together perhaps we could meet at Wild Wing on James snow take it from there. Go down together and leave when you want. Maybe take the 401 2 Mississauga Road then...
most of us are there to check out other bikes. these clowns show up and then their rivals and then they make a few calls then more show. regular folk start leaving.
was it just recently or will this be a trend. thought there was a law concerning showing your colors. wonder if the cops would...
