The 16 year old that was shot died this morning.
They keep pushing the "exchange of gunfire" narrative but then include quotes like " during which two police officers discharged their firearms.". Was the exchange of gunfire just the cops shooting? Wording is imprecise at best.

SIU is again screwing the dog and hasn't released anything other than propaganda. It should be easy enough at this point to be able to conclusively say if there was a weapon in the car. They don't want facts to get in the way of being able to control optics.

"At the early stages it does appear, based on video evidence, that it was the 16-year-old who fired at officers, and then the two officers … shot the youth," SIU spokesperson Kristy Denette said

Major breach. Body cam footage was leaked to media. Sure looks like the dumb kid pulled a gun and pointed it at a cop.

I can't get the body cam video to come up, but the security camera is scary with the directions of fire.
Body cam leaked was cop by passenger door getting people out of car. 16 yo in back seat appeared to grab a handgun from under the passenger seat and swung it up towards the cop. At that point video pauses but audio continues. My guess is media did that but it could also be a camera malfunction if the kid got a shot off.

These days media almost always ends or blurs video of this sort of thing. I almost never see unredacted video anywhere, anymore.

Go to Scandinavia. Buddy just got back and one thing he noticed was how graphic the news is.

I agree. They also make zero effort to convey that point. Where images or video or edited, that fact should be front and centre imo. I have no problem censoring the video of a kid dying but throw up some text on screen that the footage was intentionally altered from the original.

The sadly comical point is the redacted videos will still almost always have dire warnings about violence, etc..

Point a gun at a cop or shoot at them is the pinnacle of FAFO. Not gonna` go well for you. Zero empathy.

If the kid pulled the gun and especially if he fired what were his expectations for the bystanders. I read there were five others or around the car and two cops. Only one person shot is a miracle.

The story is the car had six people in it. It looks like four or five were out at the time of the shooting. They run off when the shooting starts (very reasonably).

This shows the full shooting... and a little aftermath. The worst is blurred.
From the grunt of the cop he might have taken the first shot in the vest. Given that they weren't searching them all on the way out, the cops were in a real crap situation. Cop with the camera had his back to a crowd of people associated with the person shooting at him. Cop was being pleasant and polite prior to getting shot at.

I was thinking the same, myself, about the vest hit.
