Doc you have to take out those last 2 lines of your post. They are indeed wonderfully addictive. For an old dawg I would think you’d love the mechanical perfection of a ticking watch mechanism.Just as a small counter to Priller's post.
My current Apple Watch version 6 is 5 years old and chargers to 80% in 1 hour so that really nullifies the "can't get sleep data". 1.5 Hr 0 to 100%.
I hate being tethered to a phone but find the convenience of having extensive useful data on my wrist nullifies that.
As a rider - crash detection is a real bonus.
As an oldster fall detection as well.
I have an unresolved tachycardia condition and it is reassuring to be warned.
Having, wind, temp and rain at a quick glance without hauling out a phone a big plus.
Answering message and phone calls from wrist real Dick Tracy stuff and again....no chasing the phone.

It's like having a whole collection of watches. The bright, crisp OLED screen turns out a jewel like look.
I stopped wearing my Movado except for dress up occasions and gave to my son. I think it has disappeared in the estateThe Ultimate Collection of Luxury Apple Watch Faces

As for smart watches…I use my Apple Watch 1st Gen when I want to see how far a new walking route takes me. That’s about it.
Yup, there's a lot going on there.Have the GA-1B. It's next to impossible to read as a glance at certain times.

Hey, if it works for you, I'm not casting aspersions. I was just explaining why smartwatches don't do much for me. I have to adjust mine all the time, and they need service every five or so years, which can add up. But I have found little to recommend a smartwatch when I have to carry a phone around with me anyway.Just as a small counter to Priller's post.

MIL SHIP is usually around the one k mark so that’s not a bad HBC price if that watch is your thing .
What's the grey market price? I assume buying from HBC may cause warranty issues (or maybe they aren't quite far enough down the liquidation path to trigger that yet).MIL SHIP is usually around the one k mark so that’s not a bad HBC price if that watch is your thing .

They also have an Omega seamaster (quartz) in really good shape at $2500 , which is about market price anywhere for that model.
Warranty *should* be fine, as long as they stamp the card or otherwise fill it in. As long as you buy from an AD, the warranty is with the manufacturer, not the store. What's the grey market price? The AD was the question mark. As firms goes through liquidation, at some point HBC ceases to exist and "HBC liquidation inc" takes over. The second company is not an AD. Consumers don't see the change until it is on the receipt.Warranty *should* be fine, as long as they stamp the card or otherwise fill it in. You can get one at $631 CAD (plus unspecified duty) on Jomashop, the kings of the grey market:

It's actually quite a nice watch, shame about the US Navy connections. Hamilton made a gorgeous watch called the Spirit of Liberty that I loved the look of, but it was so OTT American (including having "without liberty, life is a misery" etched into the strap!) that I couldn't bring myself to buy one. It's a shame, as it's a fantastic business-casual watch, dressy but not too dressy.
