I bought a 1959 Ariel 650 Huntmaster twin in 1965. It was an abused many-ownered bike.
But it was the gateway drug to Brit-land. Next step was a new 1966 Norton Atlas, which required replacement with a 1967 Atlas - which led to a 1969 Commando (the 1st of several).
IF the engine runs, warm it up properly, then play with the throttle 'til it hangs.
