Chipper

Just picked up the Stihl GTA26 with pole.
Getting it at almost cost, feels good, plus I have other Stihl products that share the battery.

Our trees at cottage took a real beating. Was able to find a local guy who worked 7 hours at $25/h to clean up everthing on the ground. He had just purchased a chipper and it seemd to work pretty well for him.

Electric start, 5" capacity.

Next step here is to have an arborist come in to trim up trees to mitigate long term issues. But having a general labourer come in to do the basic ground level cleanup has saved me a fair amount.

$25/hr including the chipper? Man, that guy sold himself short. He's making less than minimum wage.

Buy the tool only and run it with your RIGID batteries via a battery adapter....

I have a 40v Ryobi mower and weed whacker. Came with two 6 A batteries.

Last fall I bought an open box Ryobi tool only chainsaw for $100 and it works very well. Also got the tool only 10' tree limber.

Once you have the base system adding tool only options can be pretty cost effective.

I know. Guy came by day before for an estimate, arrived 7AM next morning with a 4 door pickup, a 15 foot trailer, a side by side to tow the chipper up my hill and a couple of chain saws. $25/h was what he quoted.

There seems to be a side gig for some people where they buy packages and break them out selling off what they don't need. I'm not sure if all of them are legal. I know a guy that does some of it and he gave me a new impact driver because he had too many. He just got a Milwaukee chain saw with two 18-volt batteries. He hinted I might get his old one.
