MotoGP 2025 Discussion Thread *Warning: Spoilers allowed*

Came across another good YT vid from one of the former hosts of Donut show about path to MotoGP racing. Interesting that pretty much the only way is to move to Spain and try there.

So, for anyone who streams using ServusTV, I ran into a new predicament for the first time today….

They’ve changed their coding somehow or another - if you’re using an Apple product, you cannot cast the stream to another device (TV, AppleTV etc).

Tried it with the iPad and with the desktop computer…. Shows that it’s being cast, but when you look at the device being cast to, it shows a red circle with a slash over the “play/pause” button.

What a PITA.

What a mess. Race delayed or not, everyone who left the grid at the last second should have been given a ride-through penalty. That rule was added to prevent the same situation that screwed Miller in 2018:

Losial was a messy race all-round with the number of contact incidents. The marshals are going to be sweeping bits of carbon fiber off the track for days. I do like that the stewards (Simon) handed out consistent mid-race penalties for the ones that deserved it.

I wonder when the FIM is going to admit that the 'Misano curbs' are causing, or at least contributing to, the worst kind of crash where riders are getting thrown back onto the track into the path of other bikes. The narrow tires of the Moto3 bikes are the most susceptible to the curbs, but we were inches away from having another Marco Simoncelli incident in the MotoGP race.

I feel so bad for the Terminator, poor guy can't catch a break :(

and what's up with this stupid tire pressure rule? can't they measure before the race so they don't pull guys from the podium after they already celebrated? feel sorry for the Maverick as well..

He just caught 11 more breaks (ribs, ouch!)

Technically, it's a safety thing. Too low pressure means the tire flexes and heats up too much as compared with the conditions Michelin designed it to operate in, potentially leading to catastrophic failure.

The problem is that the temp is so sensitive to whether you get clean airflow or not. More air cools the tire and lowers the pressure, so if you're leading the race your temp/pressure is going to be lower than if you're closely following someone else. So on the grid you sort of have to guess whether you'll be leading or following someone for the majority of the race. And no one, not even Maverick, ever thought he'd be leading the race for that long in clean air.

In at least two races this season M93 has intentionally let AM73 take the lead so that he could use his brother like a windshield to keep his tire temp/pressure high enough not to trip over the low pressure rule.
