If the track layout is like what the initial illustrations are, there is zero chance of FIM homologation, and that means zero chance of world class events. Not enough attention paid to run-off. Some of the issues would be simple to fix ... like moving the two almost-adjacent opposite-direction straightaways further apart, and pull some of the corners back further to increase run-off. Pit lane needs to be configured differently, and it needs a paddock area ... not houses for the rich folks. Hopefully we're just seeing a conceptual sketch.
ah yes the North end of Barrie. Just like the grounds of the Goodwood House in West Sussex.

can't see Canada supporting a MotoGP event
most Canadians have no idea of motorbike road racing
we don't have the corporate sponsorship here to support it
and the well-healed that travel to these events won't want to come here

So it sounds like any chance of public use of the track will depend on how the "Bexley Motor Club" operates. And there is ZERO chance of MotoGP ever being hosted there, or any kind of serious racing series. There is absolutely no intention of any kind of supporting spectators. Oh well. Seems like best case scenario is that the track gets built, the facility goes bankrupt, and then someone buys it for cheap with the intention of running it normally in about ten years. And that's not a stretch, as tracks around here are very good at running out of money
It is basically impossible to get the Environmental approvals much less the finances to get a FIA/FIM track built.
How many grandiose proposals have we seen in Niagara alone for Various race tracks including a NASCAR oval over the years.
New tracks in Canada have little change of success even if they could get the environmental, noise and other approvals as the business environment does not support it
The Club track on Vancouver Island is owned by a major Autogroup and could not meet FIA or FIM standards and has so many restrictions .
Mosport would have a better chance of a MotoGP if anything

That question was raised a few years ago (before CTMP took over) and the answer a friend of mine got was that in its current configuration F-1, Moto-GP and likely even Indy Car would be lapping in under a minute.
There isn't near enough runoff, all the trees would have to come down and more gravel traps installed.
In short - ain't gonna happen.

Man, some of you guys are brutally pessimistic. In Canada there are a lot of motorcycle riders but we only ride for 5-7 months of the year. That puts a damper on a serious devoted motorcycle culture, but Canadians are still interested. To say there isn't any corporate support probably isn't true and likely isn't relevant anyway. What GP in Canada would run on is television rights and television advertising to a worldwide audience. That would mean world-wide sponsors who are the usual supporters of racing. The challenge is the track would have to be world-class to inspire a world audience, and the prize money would have to be exceptional also - enough to bring in big-name racers, most of whom will have to travel from distant places.
The track as presented in Oro is a little uninspiring for motorcycles in design, but 2.5 miles is still a serious circuit. Just have to wait and see who gets input before it is built.

And then there's the FIM approved tracks. Start with one that has been around for a long time ... Phillip Island, Australia. Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit
And the one where World Superbike is racing this weekend, Algarve, Portimao, a track that was built with this in mind: Autódromo Internacional do Algarve
Those are some mighty big gravel traps ...
And the newer tracks (like Portimao) have paved areas considerably wider than the track itself. There's the track, and then the kerbs (which everyone rides over), and then the green-painted areas that you can ride on but get a penalty for "exceeding track limits", and only beyond that is the gravel trap.
Our tracks look like just a strip of asphalt through the landscape ... which they pretty much are.
Jerez has that signature circular VIP lounge above the start-finish straight. Portimao also has a signature VIP building, which I knew was there, but not until looking up the track map did I realise that it is practically in the center of the whole facility so that you should be able to see the whole track from there.

That's a consequence of the "spec tire" rule that CSBK, and quite a number of other sanctioning bodies including MotoGP and WorldSBK, have adopted. Having said that, I doubt if any MotoGP team is paying the going rate for their tires - the tire company is using their spec-tire position as a promotional expense.
It's not like that at CSBK, but it does mean that everyone is paying the same price for their tires.
MotoGP is not coming here because there is no track in Canada that meets FIM standards, and there won't be, because there is no way for the economics to work out. There are only a few suitable tracks in the USA, for that matter.
Meanwhile ... Google Maps says it's 346 km from Brno Automotodrom (where MotoGP just finished this past weekend's event) to Red Bull Ring (where next weekend's event happens). Road trip! No point flying. Europe has many choices.

It's not that far from Indianapolis to Mosport... but yeah I see the point of FIM certification of tracks.. That and how many of 35 millions strong people here actually care about MotoGP?
Europe is a different ballgame altogether...
Care enough to watch on TV, probably not tons. Care enough to spend hundreds on a ticket, even smaller pool. Care enough to spend hundreds on a ticket and live close enough that they don't also need thousands in flights and hotels, not enough for an event to make money with.
