Swarm of motorcyclezw spotted in gta

Re: If you participated in this ride smarten up!!!!!

First off, I don't see what fun there is in this type of group riding. I didn't see any stunts being pulled on the YouTube video.
Maybe there were some stunts being pulled. Even if there were, this ride did not look like much fun at all.
Just stuck in a bunch of other bikes and a bunch of cars. Not fun for me at all.

Secondly. I'm sure many of the riders in that group are members of GTAM.
I'm sure a few of them have said something on this thread..

Would one of you please tell the rest of us what you guys were up to.

I really didn't look like much fun.

I would guess it was just a social get together and too many people showed up. They got all coffeed-up on Tim Hortons XXL triple-triple and youthful exuberance took over. Someone said "Let's go!" and off they flew, horrifying the frumps by splitting lanes, using the shoulder, pulling wheelies and driving over intersection islands. Not fun for you or me, but for kids it is. I say it beats them doing drugs and shooting at each other.

Re: If you participated in this ride smarten up!!!!!

Yup, no one else gets injured when people use the streets for stunting or as a personal racetrack...I mean, if **** goes wrong it is just a motorcycle...not like is it around 400 lbs of steel moving at 150-200+ km/h with no crumble zones to lower the kinetic energy it carries when it hits something or someone....

The problem with using a pic like this is that it perfectly misleads a bitter truth that caused the accident. The biggest cause of motorcycle collisions is a cage turning across the rider's right of way, as happened in this pic. Now we can all run around saying "Oh, but he was speeding so there..." but the reality is YOU DON'T NEED TO BE SPEEDING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. So, if you're happy with the lie that the rider is at fault in the pic, then you probably don't belong on a motorcycle, because in most of these cases it is the biker who dies and the cager who walks away laughing.

Re: If you participated in this ride smarten up!!!!!

I got no dog in this fight, but I'm going to guess somebody may have to be speeding to taco a minivan, that's no 6okph impact

Reddit said they were some kind of "519 club" and were running reds to stick together.

I'm from 519. Why is it almost every club with 519 in the name has to suck?
FYI
I'm renaming it "The 9ine".

Oh the irony. The stats that confirm your premise, are figments of your imagination. Well, someone else's imagination, since this concept has been around for a long time.

See if you can find any stats that back up your claim. It'll be fun.

The problem with using that photo is it has no pertinence to the events of the other day outside of "motorcycles are bad"

Edit: ... his speed was a massive factor. Yeah the driver made a mistake, but tipping 200 on busy thoroughfare with cross traffic is a bigger mistake. They both paid unfortunately

I beliebe Stratford is in "the 9ine"; this is a weiner

They were generating online content, not riding. It doesn't have to be good, just updated frequently. Get with it. Also, once the temps fall below 20 degrees. 99% of them will garage their bikes. True calamity will have to wait until next June.

Under likely 80-90% of left turn accidents I actually would agree, but not in the one pictured in my post. Police reconstruction put that bike at around 200km/h in a 60km/h zone, and would have been visible to the driver for maybe 0.1 seconds before impact. Sure, speed really doesn't matter hugely in fault determination if the other vehicle is going say 10-30 over the limit, but it sure does if it was going more than 3x the posted limit.

As the the picture, the point of it is to show what damage a bike can do when it hits something at speed. So many seem to think if they die on the road, they'll only kill themselves, but neglect to think of what happens to the thing they hit. At speed, a motorcycle can do an incredible amount of damage. Arguably that's the main reason the police won't risk a high speed chase either...it's not just the risk to the runner, it is the risk to the other road users, especially if the runner hits someone attempting to get away. Better to not hand out a single 128 or 172 ticket, than it is to explain the SIU and any families involves why x number of people had to die that day.

Re: If you participated in this ride smarten up!!!!!

Reading the general public's comments on this thread topic (motorcycle mob) on the cbc.ca website. Quite entertaining actually

Here's a sample:

Bob Heck

I have some questions in general as well. How did they organize, why did they remove or blur the plates, and was it just me or did I see some patches on the backs of some of these riders. And, last notice they're all driving sport bikes. That's unusual and doesn't fit in with gangs like Hells Angels or Rock Machine.
Are they local, or from the US is what I'm wondering...

David Allan
@Bob Heck
"How did they organize"
The normal way. People with common interests communicated.

"why did they remove or blur the plates"
Because they don't want to be caught on camera and traced for their stunt.

:rolleyes::lmao:

Actually an 80 zone, and if you look here, there is no visibility concerns. The turning driver misjudged the closing speed, or didn't look beyond the 10ft in front of his car. Anyway, they're both responsible for their respective fates, but yeah, the missile more so IMO

Again, what does a massive group ride have in common with a 200kph boy racer? Absolutely NOTHING...

Like I said earlier, just the new GTAM go to for soapbox shock.

Re: Swarm of motorcycles spotted in gta

Who or what group is /are behind that moto mob? They should be careful next time cause that look bad for any legit group rides.

Re: Swarm of motorcycles spotted in gta

Maybe another group of 200+ riders should do a ride to denounce the actions of the previous riders and to bring proper road awareness...just sayin':p
