Hi Guys,

I'm in the same boat as a lot of you in the thick of these supersport insurance increases... Not that we need one more thread here, but, I imagine that some of you are in the same/similar boat as me. As of 2/12/2016, I wanted to show a breakdown of what I am now paying with State Farm, in addition to showing some additional options. Location is Kitchener. 30 year old male with GM. M for 3 years.

I'm obsessed with getting my monthly payment down. I don't care what each component costs, I just need the total to be 'reasonable'. The stable consists of:

2009 GSX-R600
2013 Civic
2015 Mazda3
Home

State Farm ---

Bike: 131
Civic: 116
Mazda: 112
Home: 72
Total: 431

Allstate -- once I've had my M for 4 years, motorcycle discount of 30% can be applied. That's the sweet spot that I need to get into!

Bike: 112
Civic: 123
Mazda: 109
Home: 42
Total: 386

TD --

Bike: 120
Civic: 113
Mazda: 102
Home: 75
Total: 410

I'm not drawing any conclusions, just throwing this out there after pissing away almost 6 hours of my time to get the quotes etc. Good luck to all!

All-State saved me $1100/year over my current State Farm rate before the increase.

Saved 1200 thru intact 47 year old 05 sv650s house 2011 ford ranger neo 5x8 trailer over 700 just on bike

TD only does 8 payments not 12 for motorcycle so it may actually be cheaper just a FYI that would make the TD quote significantly better

Interesting payment structure. Thanks for the tip. It was $1440 yearly... one thing I do not know is if there is an 'interest' or service charge to go monthly with TD. State farm has a service fee of $0.75/month while Allstate tacks on 3%.

Just be careful with allstate. If you ever go through a claim it'll be the worst experience of your life.

I have my car and bike insurance currently with statefarm with G-M license and no tickets. Called Allstate and they gave me the exact same price ($5 more). This is pre my bike renewal in June.
So if your statefarm insurance goes up upon renewal, dont panic, Allstate seems to have the same rates as Statefarm (before it was bought out)

I am also in a quest for affordable sport bike insurance. I am over 60 years old with a clean record, M license since dinosaurs ruled the earth, but only 4 years of continuous insurance. These are the rates I was quoted from various companies for insurance on a 1998 Kawasaki ZX9-R:

State Farm old rate $1137 a year with house and car.
State Farm new rate $2077 a year with house and car.
Dalton Timmis $3265 bike alone or $2513 with house and car. This was through Aviva. (I know other people have been quoted much better rates than this from Dalton Timmis, but that is what they told me.)
TD MM $1247 bike alone.
Mellisa Jones of Arthur Gallagher LTD $1180 with car.
Grant Redfern Allstate $944 with house and car. However, the Allstate rate for my house is much less than State Farm as well. (You must insure your house and car as well or Allstate will not insure sport bikes.)

It should be noted that the State Farm quotes were only for $300,000 liability, whereas all the others are for one million. Hopefully, this info will save someone else some time searching.

I know it's anecdotal and everyone has different experiences, but I had a claim end of last year through Allstate for a hit+run. It was settled quickly and how I expected it to be. Maybe I just got a good adjuster?

Good-bye State-Farm... signing with Allstate on this coming Thursday.
I will update this thread upon signing to show how the 'actual' rates look once we bind it. I won't celebrate until it's in writing -- I've been burned a many times too many without stuff in writing.

I wonder if SF even cares that they are losing so many riders' policies?

The short answer is NO... As per my State Farm agent... her attempt at keeping me was to slander the competition. Who knows, I may be back in a couple years with a different bike...

As long as you let me know prior to the renewal dates (to cancel them on renewal) you wouldn’t get penalized in any way. If it’s after the renewal date, you would face short rate charges.

Of course we really don’t want to see you go anywhere and I wish there was more I could do!!!

If you have ANY other questions or if there is anything I can do, let me know.

Sincerely,

State Farm

Give me a call and I will beat all the prices above - 1-800-263-2369 ext# 167

I didn't realize Allstate insured supersport bikes. I've talked to several agents all saying supersports or GSX R600s are not listed.

I will be motorcycle licensed for 6 years on renewal, insured with motorcycle for one year. 28 years old. Anyone have experience with who would be best for me? Seems like the golden number is 30, unfortunately I'm a ways away from that.

Also ZX6R 2014.
