Do you believe in bad luck........

Thank you for the advices, I guess need to ride smarter and I wasn't going fast it's rush hours, just drivers like to rush a turn during rush hours

That's Hamilton, you don't turn left on yellow in the Hammer in rush hour. You wait for it to turn red.
The effing guy in his effing boss's pickup is effing lighting his ciggie or just came from the effing bar and he's not slowing at any effing yellow because he has to effing get home and drink more or smoke meth.

It has nothing to do with visibility, they see you, they really just don't care.

There's good reasons why there are so many red light cameras in downtown and east end intersections.

I may not be a good rider/driver but i'm not a bad one either, i always listen to others advice and may not understand them until i encountered them myself, i do make mistakes and learn from it.
I always wear hi viz gears cuz i want to be seen and i do keep some distance and away from others blind spot. some driver think he/she can make a turn and he/she will take it even he/she saw you, nothing you can do but hope your brake works. for my case it wasn't at the traffic light, not only me had to braked hard, the driver next to me was on his brake too. the guy turning left didn't even signal to turn ffs.

Im starting to think that there's a correlation between turn signals and christmas lights. Something about how you don't use them if it's against your religion.

Missed one:

No old fart in front who is going to lock up their brakes to stop for the yellow... Check.

Or the sociopath who's about to turn right from the left hand lane

Simple technique... slow down to a crawl. It F's with the brain of the left turner. Pisses them off, but what you are doing is controlling their mind by giving them more time to decide / process turning in front of you or not. Use this technique and they all will stop for you. And if they don't, it will be a very low speed collision. You win.

Not sure i would consider ANY collision a win..lol

Slowing down to a crawl for a left-turner who is jumping the gun (starting to make the turn before you pass by in an attempt to save a second or two) does seem to mess with their minds. I'd love to tell these people "From my viewpoint, I can't tell if you are going to hit me."

Funniest part is when you try to make eye contact with them (to confirm they've seen you), and theyre just glaring at you

I find this technique somewhat dangerous, as I feel you prolong the indecision/uncertainty and the rider is vulnerable for a longer time. The left turner could just gun it and splat you. That said, I have not thought of a safer route than slowing down. In the event of a crash at least speeds are lower and damage will be reduced.

I have done this with a bicycle (not my choice, I could not pedal any faster), and invariably the car turns at the last second, scaring the crap out of me.

Ever see a squirrel making the decision to dart or die in front of your car? Same principle. You give him longer opportunity to decide and 90% of the time he does the right thing.

If the left turner goes for it, the slower your speed the better. I agree that surviving an impact is a win.

Slow down, hug the right lane for max visibility (if theres a vehicle waiting to turn left blocking the view of the vehicle in the opposite lane turning left being furthest right brings you into their view at the earliest.) Your life is worth far more than saving 5 minutes home.

Had a car driver pull a stunt today that I wasn't expecting.

Both of us sat at a red light ... probably for a minute or two, so there's no excuse for either of us to not know that the other was there ... the other-direction vehicle had its left turn signal on, I'm going straight and did not have the signal on. Light turns green, I start moving, so does the opposing car and it was obvious that he floored it to try to beat me. Fortunately my hand wasn't too far from the brake lever and I simply stopped - so did he, and I yelled a piece of my mind at him.

I wonder if that other driver knows that what he was attempting to do is grounds for a HTA172 charge ...
