Premier Wynne is such a Gem.......

I'm so looking forward to the Ontario Pension plan........

The Ontario Pension Plan is going to be another facet of OHIP. The government continues to de-list health care services and subsidies due to a staggering debt of over $300 billion (among other things). The Boomers want their hips, knees and ankles replaced. Solution? A new tax disguised as a pension.

Like the CPP, there's a good chance there won't be much left in the pot when Canadians currently younger than 50 reach retirement (give or take a few years).

I also saw the writing on the wall, and the other thread about motorcycles and HOV/HOT, but it is really too bad if these are here to stay they won't take us into consideration on the 400 series. Knowing that every time I use those roads, I can't use the far left lane and assume a proper blocking position annoys me.

You'd think with the MTO handbook stating you should always be in an outside lane they would consider us, but then, that would make too much sense (and lower revenue) for Onterrible. Also, how do they plan to monitor usage of these lanes (to charge)? Assuming you need a transponder, they still need to put in sensors/cameras every so often, which is going to cost an arm and a leg. Why can I see them doing this, and we end up not hitting the break even point until 5-10 years down the road...

Simple, it has already been discussed they are going to have the "friendly folks" at the 407 ETR, administer the billing. It will likley be "switchable type" of transponder, (If you have the required number in the car the transponder is off, if you don't then the transponder will be turned on. Of course then OPP cars will get another "fancy" new piece to detect if you have your transponder on or off...LMAO

Break even point in 5 - 10years??? Give your head a shake more like 50 years. just think of all the new fancy jobs at MTO, to monitor the monitors..lol

I will vote for the first party to promise recall legislation and the use of referendums for issues of this nature.

No, you won't. Ontario ping-pongs between two parties that are pretty indistinguishable from each other. We have 1/3 of voters that will vote for any idiot with a blue sign, 1/3 vote for any idiot with a red sign, and 1/3 that swing the vote, but only about half show up to vote, so 1/6 of eligible voters actually take time to learn about the platforms and candidates. And that's how you get the Ford brothers.

I wonder how many of people responding to the thread even vote. I bet 0% have read anything from parties other than Red and Blue.

Wynne is my response to people who say government would be better with more women and minorities in power.

The turds float in Ontario, regardless of age, sex, color or orientation.

Do you mean the party that is owned by the Unions?

The same boomers who basically paid nothing for schooling, nothing for housing, and almost no taxes. But, they vote, and millennials don't vote.
But that's ok, because those $300K condos will be worth $6M in 20 years because all graphs extrapolate forever.

We tried that. They lied and were as corrupt as Red and Blue.
Heard much from Horvath about the 15% insurance thing? Noooope. She gets her money from the same trough.

The truth is, politics is where chronic underachievers and corrupt people migrate to. There are no longer any real options, and the problem starts with few or no actual corruption laws in this country. That's why my city councilor used to be a manger for Dufferin Construction and why he proposes all kinds of spending to Dufferin construction. F-ing guy lives in a $2.2M house and drives a $100K car, yet mysteriously makes only $82,000 a year.
But as long as people just don't vote and casually bend over, things will not change.
