Few years back got off the ferry onto PEI.It was a blinding rain hale storm.
I was first off, during the trip over I noticed a guy in his late 60s on a beat up sportster with a sleeping bag tied on the front.
As Im heading through this storm on my fairing equiped BMW this old cout wails by me and waves.
I only saw him for another 20 seconds?

I know this thread a bit old now, but does anyone know if the rally is still going on?

I found a few articles, which seem to suggest it was cancelled in 2012, but planned to return in 2013

Neither link suggests it will return.

I still pick a weekend and go every year. The lack of fuzz compared to the rally days makes for a more worry-free spirited riding experience.

Maybe already talked about but, I remember going to the rally when they did the radar run at the airport south of town and it was awesome, do a few runs then wait till a plane landed, then a few more runs and another plane.. Those were good times and there were lots of cool bikes to check out there. I haven't been in may years, do they still do radar runs ?

I use to have such a great time there. I was searching out info to find out if it was still going on. After finding this thread I found the above link.

The last year of the event there was a decent OPP presence but they were very lax on enforcement.

The complete and utter lack of any organization was what killed the rally.

From what I understand it was a lot of things. Older residents in control of the town not wanting the noise or hooligans, an organizer who was losing interest and couldn't find anyone to take it over, and a fading reputation.

People would probably go to PD13 without official organization. If there was a date set for sport bike rally would people go just because

thats the point...mike m. wanted it to have a similar vibe to "mad sunday"at the TT..if you wanted safe or regulated you could look elsewhere... cops ruined it
