Hello,
As of late and seeing it at the motorcycle show I've been pretty interested in this bike. At the price point it seems like a good deal and the reviews I've read on the Internet are all positive. any owners out there can chime in on how they like it?

my last bike was a ninja 250 had it for 2 seasons and now looking for something new for this season. Other bikes I'm also interested in are the ktm duke 390, drz400sm.

Thanks

I rode one last summer..( for an hr) does that count ? felt great, nice and light, lots of power handled nice, looks great, what else ya need to know ??????

They do look pretty sexy :) I almost got one, but insurance was a bit higher than I wanted on it, so I'm going for the RC 390 instead.

Depends what kind of riding you mostly do ... Fz07 will be undoubtedly the most versatile and most powerful as well.

I own one and love it. Fits my style of riding pretty well. I commute on it almost everyday during the riding season. 50 km one way. Very comfortable, great on gas, power is tons of fun. Only issue though is now the insurance company reclassified it as a naked sport from a sport touring thus raising my insurance a bit. Gotta call them up and ***** them out about it before renewal.

The fz07 is a great bike, especially for city riding and back roads twisties, that 700 twin has a beautiful midrange to play with. The build quality is typical yamaha, fit and finish quite good, and dealer support is everywhere. What's not to like?

Edit: I owned a drz s model, loved it trail riding, would never own one as a primary road bike. The 390 looks like a fun bike, no experience with one. Neither of these bikes are even half the road bike of the fz, comfort, power, fuel range, ability for two up riding, all areas where it will surpass the other two bikes on the road.

I like this bike, not only it looks good but it is very good on insurance only $672/year liability for myself, not far off from any 250/300 class which would cost me $500-600 liability. Good bike.

I love mine, I use it as a commuter. Very light weight, good fuel economy and power, comfortable upright seating position. The motor sounds and feels a little like a v-twin. It is just a load of fun to ride.

I rode this bike twice at two demos. Very good low speed manoeuvrability, perfect Gymkhana bike.
Finish...meh, reflects price, that saddle has issues, the bike does not have ABS as an option.
I prefer the style of the FZ07, and the engine of the SFV650 -which you can buy used quite cheap.

Odd to me that the two other bikes you're considering are about half the engine size.

Maybe he doesn't like giving money to insurance companies.
Totally understand that. That's why I dropped to a 125. So I'd understand if they were all in the same range. Just odd that one is big while the others are small.

Well, for younger riders, you weigh the ridiculous insurance costs versus how long you think you will keep a bike.
Makes economic sense to ride the smallest bikes and sell every few years until insurance is affordable.

Honestly i was fine with the power or the 250 I had. I was just considering the fz07 because of the price and it looks nice. I don't need a big bike to have fun, I just enjoy riding.

Wouldn't any of the newer 500cc or less Honda's, the Ninja 300, or the KTM 390 be ideal then? The fz07 is way more than you would need.
