Getting back on a bike...

FINALLY... THE ROCK HAS COME BACK.... joking

So its been a while since I owned a bike; 3 years I believe. I am picking up an 2005 R6 on Monday. My bike before was a 1999 R6 which was awesome! I am a bit out of touch with it all but looking forward to contributing to the community in someway.

First of all. Where is a good place where I can get gear for a decent price? Really I just need a proper jacket and high ankle boots. I got gloves and a helmet from my first season riding. I see there is a show coming up and I may check it out to see what I can get.

Hope to see you all at meets. Wish you all a safe riding season!!

Welcome back.

Welcome to the forum and back to the hobby. The show is a good spot for gear. If not there's gp bikes royal distributing or online at canadasmotorcycle.ca

welcome back! there is a Spring Motorcycle show coming up on March 21-22 (sat-sun) you could score a good deal or two there, but other than the show, Royal Distributing would be the place to go, also check out Cycle World on Sheppard Ave in Scarborough

I believe both Royal and GP bikes have an annual no HST spring sale in April. Some one correct me if I'm wrong plz..

There should be some deals at the show. Don't forget riding pants as well.

This would be great if it were true. Anyone?

100% true, every spring/fall they have a no tax sale, combined with great sale prices and a clearance tent. Some definite deals to be had...

So I got some bad news and some good news.....

The bad news: The 2005 Yamaha R6 I was to pick up got dropped before I got there and damaged so I left it alone because I am not trying to buy new fairings!

The good news: I picked up a 2007 Honda CBR600RR..... And its AWESOME!! Under 27K and I already installed integrated taillight cause the stock look was nasty!!

CBR6 is great bike, maybe even sweeter (on street) than R6...
Welcome back, bro - you were never even really gone, heheh.

Nice purchase. Personally I find the cbr more comfortable than the r6 and for the street that's not a bad thing.

Make sure you get a valve clearance inspection ASAP if the previous owner doesn't have a receipt for it getting done at it's big 24,000km maint schedule overhaul.

The R6 is probably the worst around town/street bike on the planet. Good for group rides and track only :)
