Some have commented that the lock could be broken in about 4-5 minutes. That may be true, but isn't this a deterrent? Rather than being able to take it in seconds and have the possibility of being caught?
If someone wants it bad enough, they'll get it. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna make it easy for them!

The guy is asking $300. Some chains (that are anti-theft and long enough to go around a pillar) can be extremely expensive. Maybe not $300, but close to $200

Now, any chain can be cut more or less quickly, if you have the correct tool, and as long as it is on the ground.

Conclusion: don't let the chain on the ground, try to keep it high on the air, and you reduce the chances of this happening by quite a bit. Also, anyone walking into your condo with bolt croppers (bolt cutters) that are 4 ft in length should explain himself!
 
Not sure how brazen thieves are to use noisy power tools but a battery-powered angle grinder will chew threw that thing in about 10 seconds.
