2014 Demo Days

In still contemplating.... Don't have any rain gear and the possibility of cancelation isn't very reassuring

They will be doing another track day at mosport next Thursday

BMW has also updated their demo day list

Sooo ??

How was it ?

It was a gorgeous day and since no one showed up, all bikes were up for grabs!

Of the expected 70people, 20 showed up. The organizers were great and fed us wings, burgers, hot dogs.
Bikes available were 300r, Er-6n, 650r, 636, 1000, z1000, and 1400.
The track was a lot of fun when it dried up. During the rain in the early morning, 2 riders went down. They were fine and continued strong. Towards the end, they let us open up the bikes a bit and really push it around. The rest of the time, we rode at a steady and comfortable pace.
I had a blast and was glad everything worked out!

70 seems like a lot of people for a 3.5 hour period... Bit I'm glad you had fun

Can't say I'm not jealous :P

That was 70 for the entire day. 30 in the morning, 40 in the afternoon. And since no one showed, many of the morning crew stayed for the whole thing lol.

More to come! Next one's in Mosport, Edmonton, and iirc Quebec!

Hahaha!
Neat thing, Sony was there promoting their action cams so they put a few on the bikes to record our sessions.
I was filming this one on a 1400 of silverbullet132 on another 1400.

I skipped the Suzuki one because the dealership told me they wouldn't have the DR-Z400SM which I found out the day after that they did. They also told me they didn't have a DR-Z400SM in stock which there was a floor model in the Suzuki section. Damn you, Hully Gully! :(

The Kawi track day at Mosport is apparently "Fully Booked". Is there anyone I can call to try and get my name in or is it too late now? Also, do you guys know what the requirements are? Full M and full track gear?

You don't need a full M....m2 is fine

And track gear isn't required either... Just the minimum jeans jacket gloves ankle boots and helmet

It's also a $40 donation to cancer society

So is it really fully booked or does it just say that? Cause it said the same thing when I first checked a few weeks ago.

There are 2 sessions on the 19th at mosport - one from 7-10:45 the other from 11-2:45 and both are showing as full

Pretty sure it's not correct.

I registered yesterday morning when I decided to skip the Cayuga session due to weather.

So, if it says full, it probably is =(

Which website are you using to register?

What if I just show up and hope there's a spot? Cause I'm sure only like 50% of people that register actually show up to these. Even if it's nice weather.

I called in 2 weeks ago to sign up for the KTM demo day today at Apex Cycle

When I showed up they didn't have my name on the list - very disappointed

lesson from this - call to double confirm your ride

Honda Demo day at Burlington cycle was spectacular

The route was very lengthy... 45 mins (Brant street to Britannia to Guelph line and back on plains road)

Speeds were between 80-100 and lots of twistys

The vfr 800 was also available but only for class M riders - i believe it will be part of their line up for the rest of the season - bike looks amazing

I rode the NC750s followed by the cb500x

Both bikes were amazing - getting used to the 750's power will take some time - but switching to the 500 after i was instantly regretting the power downgrade

Riding position's similar but the 750 was much more comfortable

Rode the 690 Duke at the ktm demo..... It's a very small bike and a tall/large rider will be very cramped... The naked bike look is fantastic but offers absolutely no protection against the wind.... The mirrors are so tiny and at high speed there is so much buzzing that they are pointless... For a 690cc bike it just didnt feel that powerful - especially compared to the Yamaha fz07 - the seat on the other hand was very plush and comfy

The demo itself was very short - not even 20 mins on tiny streets- they were a bit behind on schedule

After my first ride they wouldn't let me ride the 690 enduro because my leather jacket didn't have armor - very disappointed

The food provided by Clare's cycle was spectacular

There is only one KTM demo left for Ontario - Wednesday June 18th from10-4pm at GP bikes in Whitby
