need to buy a new helmet and jacket tomorrow - best/closest to downtown?

Town Moto
Doc's Leathers

Both are downtown.

Good prices is relative. Part of downtown convenience also means downtown markup for some items.

Both have things that GP doesn't so this also plays into relative.

Doc's sells mostly garbage at super-inflated prices. Town Moto is better but has a limited selection, heavy on hipster/cafe racer gear.

If you know the size of the jacket and helmet you want to buy, you could just buy from Gp bikes online. I ordered a bunch of gear from them and the delivery was free and very quick. You also get 10% off if you buy online from them for the first time, use the CODE: 2014CAT3 (Expires July31st). Honestly, the prices for all the gear i bought actually cost me less compared to any other stores in the GTA.

You could try Rider's Choice on Dixie/Queensway, you'll find it like a micro-GPbikes and they have some discounts on some stuff. Closer than GP for sure.

Also, the one and only time I've been to Doc's leathers I felt unwelcome from the moment I arrived on a sports bike, I don't really think that store caters for this kinda crowd.

done! thanks. will have to drive out there, try it all on, then order or ask for the discount and save them the shipping.

check out Daytona Motor Sport. They are by hwy 400 and steeles. they have great deals on jackets, helmets and gloves.

they have alot more stuff in stock then they are on their site.

A friend of mine bought his moto guzzi from corsa meccanica. Can confirm they are legit but I've never been myself so I can't comment on price or selection

Just back from GP Bikes. Holy **** that place is fantastic. I will never go to another store again, and only 30 minutes from downtown (i'm just off the DVP so that shaves a few minutes off). There isn't even another shop that comes close to comparing.

Royal compares. They are next to each other, visit there too next time.

Other shops will carry brands that GP doesn't. Held, Roland Sands, etc. are all not at GP in 2013.

No idea, I haven't been yet this year or their booth at the shows. For whatever reason their store just doesn't do it for me. They've been fine with me so it's not a rudeness thing. I think it is mostly that I cannot afford a lot of the things they carry and the few I have been interested in in specific weren't there despite being on their webpage last year (other people had this issue too).

I have to be selective with what I get. A certain grade then build it up from there.

My last gear purchase was Frogg Toggs rainwear at Royal, affordable and available. My next purchase will be armoured jeans, probably also from Royal depending on fit.

I think GP would carry Gore-Tex stuff instead which is more $ and their jeans are probably also more $ and from more boutique labels.

Besides I find Royal has better AQ and lighting and more room to move around in. GP is so dark and cramped in comparison and smells like a Canadian Tire due to their service facility (or maybe they need a better hvac), it wouldn't hurt to knock a bunch of skylights into the ceiling or something.

Not all of us are ballin' playas rocking a Ducati and Dainese.
