Tmp pre paid track days

I always prepay a week or so in advance. Never had a problem with them transferring days or whatnot. Not sure where everyone is getting the "TMP is going to spontaneously combust soon" attitude. Thought that was like 5 years ago when they changes hands???

Edit: just read the link. But that's over 2 years old.

I think a few people also need to look up the definition of libel.

Man, I can't even get a joke to go thru without revisionists piping in.

Just busting a certain part of your anatomy is all...
Besides, here on GTAM, most people wouldn't know the difference between liable and libel anyways... :sad7:

You are liable to be accused of libel by the GTAM community. :)

I've bought lapping day credits for a couple years with no issues. I've always called their office a few days in advance and spoken to someone about certain days for myself or giving a credit to a friend, never been an issue. Email would be a bit unreliable with TMP, speak to someone who can book a day for your credit.

I had left over credits at the end of this season. I called and asked if they transfer to next season, the lady said yes. Just call them and verify for yourself.

If they were to go under, assume that you aren't getting your money back, that's the risk of buying credits at a discount

Oh, the irony...

LOL beat me to it. ;)

IIRC, some people DID lose money with TMP a few years back. People had pre-paid and then the track had a temporary shutdown and didn't honour any pre-payments. Was that as long ago as 2004 when they closed because of noise complaints and built the berm? if it is then it's ancient history and probably not very valid...

This. Wanted someone else to bring that up to make sure my memory wasn't wrong. It was within the period of current ownership ...

The situation has been much better in the last couple of years. If anything, they have been better than other tracks for granting credits in case of bad weather, etc.

But still ... I'd be reluctant to make any sort of substantial pre-paid commitment ... (don't invest more than you are prepared to lose ... but then, that's true of life in general, too)

Do you remember if it was really that long ago? I don't remember...

FYI Grand Bend has been very good about this. They don't run credit cards until the day before the track day, so you can still sign up online the morning of the day before the track day and get the discounted rate. I don't remember exactly how they do it for weather, but I know it's been discussed a few times in other threads and their policy is quite fair. That's the beauty of track days run by the track. Track renters like Pro6 for example can't really have such policies since they negotiate track deals way ahead of time.

this season I went out in the morning in the rain ( on rains) and after a few sessions I high-sided and still got a rain credit lol
Were you going above 75% race pace? if you were the tires should have whispered to you just before they trow you off ... or something like that!

They couldn't whisper. They'd have got a mouth full of rainwater you silly boy.
